Loretta D. Lyons-Goldberg

Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, October 28th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE, for Loretta D. Lyons-Goldberg, who passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 23rd at the Winchester Hospital of Winchester, following a lengthy illness. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home, following the visitation 12:15 p.m.

Born & raised in Revere, she was a 1974 alumna of Revere High School. She was also a graduate of the Blaine Institute for Hair Styling, Boston in 1977. Loretta spent almost 25 years in Everett, before moving to Stoneham, eight (8) years ago. She was the founder & operator of “Hair for All” Hair Salon of Wakefield for over 30 (thirty) years. She maintained a most successful business, until a debilitating illness forced her into an early retirement. Her salon was not only a place of business but was a gathering place for friends and those wishing to make friends. Loretta had a “larger than life” personality and once she met you, you had a friend forever & you were considered part of her “extended family”. The world is, and has been blessed by her presence, although, we all regret, the short-time our blessing enjoyed.

She is the adored wife of Andrew S. Goldberg of 13 years. She is the devoted mother to Brittney Goldberg & Jillian A. Goldberg, both of Charlestown & J.T. Lyons & his fiancée, Julia Miller & Owen E. Lyons, all of Revere. J.T. & Owen were known to Loretta as “Her Boys”. Dear sister of John Lyons of Salem & the late Edward Lyons. She is also lovingly survived by her proud sisters-in-law, Pauline Marino-Lyons of Revere & April Etter of Tewksbury. She is the cherished niece to Lorraine Mastrorio of Wells, Maine & cousin to Robert Mastrorio of Revere.

Attorney Robert F. Collins

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, October 23rd from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) REVERE, for Attorney Robert F. Collins, who passed following a five-year struggle and succumbing to the outrages of metastatic cancer disease. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, October 24th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) REVERE at 11:00 a.m. and immediately followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born in Revere, he attended Revere Schools & was an alumnus of Revere High School. After serving with the U.S. NAVY, during the Korean Conflict, he entered the New England School of Law & received his Master’s in Criminal Defense. He worked as a Boston Criminal Defense Attorney for over 40 (forty) years within the Commonwealth. He held a gift for vocabulary and that subsequently afforded him a command of the language. He was a much sought-after Public Speaker, especially in the role of “Political Toastmaster”.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rose Zelpha (Chasse) Collins & the late Maryann (Adomunes) Cushing-Collins. He is the adored father to Katherine Rose Porter and her husband, Steven R. Porter of Rockland. He is the cherished brother of Kerry E. Haughney & her husband, Joseph F. Haughney of Lynnfield & the late Stephen F. Collins & George T. Collins. He is the dear uncle to George T. Collins, Jr. & his wife, Amy Pui-Collins of Winthrop, Christine E. Haughney-Dare-Bryan & her husband, Thomas H. Dare-Bryan of Larchmont, New York, Jonathan J. Haughney & Gretchen B. Haughney, both of Medford & Stephen F. Collins, Jr. & his wife, Carmen of Peabody. He was the proud son of the late George T. Collins & Katherine E. “Kitty” (Kerrins) Collins, former member of the Mass. Electoral College & the Revere School Committee.

Anthony F. “Sonny” Petrivelli

Born & raised in East Boston, he moved with his wife to Revere in 1971. His beloved wife of 58 years Concetta “Connie” (Correale) Petrivelli passed on September 14, 2017, just 13 months ago. Early in his working career, he was in the lobster & clam digging business, working for former companies such as N.E. Lobster Co. & Atlantic Fish Industries. For over 30 years, and until retirement, he worked as a Master Carpenter out of the  AFLCIO, LOCAL #33-New England Reg. Council of Carpenters, for J.F. White Construction. He was known throughout the area for his expertise in wood-working. He served during the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Army as a Private 1st Class, from June of 1953 to May of 1955.

He is the devoted father to Paula Tocco & her husband, Joseph of Revere & Erika Poste of Vero Beach, Florida. He is the cherished grandfather to Kyle J. Bendavid & his wife, Nikol of Revere, Brianna A. Poste of N.H., Anthony E. Poste & Eric Royce, both of Vero Beach, Florida. He is the dear brother to Josephine Powers “Josie” of East Boston, Gino Petrivelli & his wife, Anna of Largo, Florida & Barbara Lena of Stoneham & the late Jennie Coleman, Francis “Frank” Petrivelli, Domenica Smith, Adeline “Addy” Petrivelli. He is also lovingly survived by his two (2) great-grandchildren, Alessia & Ryan and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.

MacDonald & her husband William J., III of Burlington & Richard G. Vertuccio, Jr. & his wife Laurie A. of Pelham, NH, formerly of Billerica & Burlington & the late Steven J. Vertuccio. Adored grandfather of Natalia Li Vertuccio & Vance S. Vertuccio, both of Pelham, NH. Dear brother of Paul R. Vertuccio of Billerica, formerly of East Boston, UT, MT & RI. Lovingly survived by his “Grampy Dog Cooper.” Proud son of the late Emilio J. “Legs” & Josephine (Rosa) Vertuccio.

Timothy R. Moody, Sr.

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 11th in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., for Timothy R. Moody, Sr., who died at his Wakefield residence on Monday, October 8th, following a lengthy battle with metastatic cancer. His Funeral Service will be conducted in the Funeral Home following the visitation on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. Interment will be held privately.

Born & raised in Augusta, Maine, he came to live in Revere over 50 years ago. In 2007, he & his family moved to Wakefield. After serving with the U.S. Marine Corps for almost seven years, in Viet-Nam, he was discharged as a Sergeant (E-5). Timothy was the recipient of the Purple Heart & several other commendations & citations for his service to his country. As a result of the insidious injuries he sustained while in Vietnam, he was overcome with PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder). Over the years, he had struggled with the horrific cause and effects of this vile disease and was able to cope well. In fact, he had decided to make a career change & returned to school, and graduated from ITT Technical Institute, with a degree in Structural Engineering. He secured a position as a Structural Engineer with Stone & Webster for almost ten years. Soon after he was diagnosed with a cancer, that became metastatic and ravaged his body, leaving him 100 pounds less in weight. Prior to his illness, he was an active member of the V.F.W. Mottollo Post #4524 of Revere. Timothy was inspiration to all with his positive manner in which he dealt with this illnesses and subsequent disabilities. Always he maintained a deep and abiding time for his time with the U.S. Marines & the opportunity to serve his country.

He is the most beloved husband of 50 years to Antoinette “Ann” (Cali) Moody with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 6th with a dinner party with 50 close relatives surrounding them. He is the cherished father of MaryRose Burrows & her husband, Brian of Epsom, New Hampshire, Timothy R. Moody, Jr. & Dawn M. Moody & her fiancée, “Brazil”, all of Malden. He is the most proud grandfather to 13: Joseph D., Ryan T., Kahla A., Brian Jr., Shawn M., Stephanie E., Brandon M., Jessica J., Christopher A., Sydney M., Anthony K., Kendell M. & Destiny M. He is also lovingly survived by 5 (five) great-grandchildren: Lyndsey, Jacoby, Julianna, Carter & Hailey & many nieces & nephews. He is the dear brother to Della Gray & her husband, Douglas of Lewiston, Maine & Sharon True of Augusta, Maine.

Richard R. Page, Sr.

Funeral services were held privately for Richard R. Page, Sr., who died on Sunday, October 7th at the Don Orione Home in East Boston following a long illness. He was 81 years old.

Richard was born & raised in the Eagle Hill section of East Boston and was educated in Boston Public Schools and he attended East Boston High School. Richard began working in the construction industry and focused on roofing. He worked on many of the various buildings and properties in and around the City of Boston. He did this for many years, becoming an expert in his field. He later took a position at Textron and became an Engineering Technician, where he worked for approximately 15 years. Richard and his wife were married on March 19, 1966. Together they began their life in East Boston where they raised their family, in 1996, they moved to Winthrop. Richard was fondly known as a loving and caring family man. He especially enjoyed being a grandfather and cherished his time being surrounded with his grandchildren. He was also known for his passion of building models, especially model ships. His patient nature and keen ability he possessed made him a master at his craft.

He is the devoted husband of 52 years of Toni L. (Capolupo) Page of Winthrop. Loving father of Michelle A. Benrifi & husband Allal of Haverhill, Donna J. Page of Winthrop, Richard R. Page, Jr. & wife Nicole of Lynn, Alicia J. Smith & husband Joshua of Chilmark, Martha’s Vineyard and the late Jonathan & Catherine Page. He is the adored grandfather of Alyssa, Zachary, U.U., Joshua, Richard, III, Anthony & Olivia. He is the dear brother of Lawrence Page & his wife Theresa of Carver and the late Frederick Page.

William G. Mullen

Mullen, who passed following a lengthy illness at the Bedford Veterans Medical Center on Saturday, October 6th. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 7:15 p.m. Interment will be held privately at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

An East Boston native & resident, Mr. Mullen was a 1949 alumnus of East Boston High School. He joined the U.S. Army in September of 1952 & served until September of 1954 during the Korean Conflict as a Corporal. His early working career was within the old Boston Meat & Food District as an expert meat cutter. He spent over 30 years in the Meat Market District, working for several distributors. He made a significant change in his final vocation & worked as a house painter, privately & for contractors. He retired at 75 years of age.

He was the beloved husband of the late Philomena E. (Paglucca) Mullen, who died on January 19, 2017. He is the devoted father to Joyce A. Hartman & her husband, Jonathan A. Hartman of Peabody & Revere, William G. Mullen, Jr. & his wife, Ann Marie of Middleborough & James W. Mullen of East Boston. He is the cherished grandfather to Taylor & Lisa Mullen, both of Middleborough & Samantha A. & Nicholas A. Hartman, both of Revere. William was brother of the late Esther Mullen & Francis & Albert Mullen. He is also loving survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nieces.

Gerald R. Spears

Spears, who died following a long & debilitating illness on Tuesday, October 2nd at the Medford Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. His Memorial Funeral Service will be held following the visitation on Saturday, October 13th at 2:15 p.m., in the funeral home. Interment will be private.

“Jerry” lived most of his life in the Oak Island Section of Revere. He was a 1970 alumnus of Revere High School. Early on in his career, he worked Revere Beach as a clam digger and did exactly what he wanted to do and was most happy. Always interested in automobiles, he attended Auto Mechanics School & for the remainder of his working career, he worked for several of the local Auto Garages and Repair Centers. He was a long-time member of Revere’s “Broadsound Tuna Club”.

He is the beloved son of Ralph R. MacAllister, Sr. of Oak Island Revere & the late Denise E. (Botticelli) Spears-MacAllister. He is the dear brother to Darlene Best of Somerville, Muriel Spears of Provincetown, Beverly Dares & her husband, Al of Ossipee, New Hampshire, Timothy Spears & his wife, Diane of Davie, Florida, Denise E. MacAllister of Wakefield, Samuel R. MacAllister of Revere, Billy-Joe MacAllister of Chelmsford & the late Stephen Spears, E. Russell MacAllister, Ralph R. MacAllister, Jr. & Anthony P. MacAllister. He is also the loving father of Anthony, Marissa, Kara, Christopher, Kristen & Lisa. He leaves 9 Grandchildren as well & many nieces & nephews.
