Alexander F. Capossela, Sr.

Visiting hours are scheduled for Alexander F. Capossela, Sr. a.k.a. “Bobby Santo”, for Wednesday, August 22nd from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere.  Mr. Capossela died unexpectedly on Saturday evening, August 18th, after being stricken at his Revere Home.  A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, August 23rd at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere at 10 a.m.  Born and raised in Boston’s North End, he attended schools in the Boston area.  For over 55 years, he was associated with Suffolk Downs Racing Track & Wonderland Dog Track, in their Mutuel’s Department, serving as a Mutuel’s Clerk.  In the 1960’s and 1970’s he had relocated to Florida & worked several of the Florida tracks.  Early in his career, he & two other friends formed a Dance Trio, the Trio was professionally known as the “Mambo Dueces” performing on the Boston pop scene, supper clubs, nite clubs, and privately for social clubs and events.  The Trio specialized & featured Ballroom dancing & Latin American dancing.  The trio won many awards in competitions & demonstrations throughout the state. They danced from the 1940’s through the 1960’s. Perhaps, he would appreciate being remembered as a life-long New York Yankees Officianado and Supporter.  He is the devoted husband of 32 years to Patricia A. (Ross) Capossela.  He is the cherished father of,  Alexander F. “Alex” Capossela, Jr., Lauren M. Capossela & Robert E. Capossela all of Revere.  He is the dear brother of, Marie Capossela & Eleana Sutera both of Boston’s North End and the late, Louise DiCenso, who died July 7th, 2012, Margaret Lanni,  Lena Perroso & Carmine Capossela.  He is the beloved brother-in-law to, Robert W. Ross of St. Petersburg, FL, Mary Lou Ross & her companion Thomas Prizio and Cynthia M. Ross all of Revere and the late Edward J. Ross, Jr. Also lovingly survived by many caring nieces and nephews & grand nieces and grand nephews.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  In Lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 60 Walnut St., Wellesley, MA 02481

We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
