Anne E. (Smith) Martineau

Funeral services were held privately in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Anne E. (Smith) Martineau who died on Monday, February 27th at the Lahey Clinic of Burlington following a brief illness, at 80 years.

Anne was born, raised and educated in Revere. She attended Revere schools and was an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1954.  Anne was later married and remained in Revere were she raised her family. She was a housewife and a loving and caring mother. She began to work at the Grover Manor Hospital in Revere as a Nurse’s Aide for ten years. Anne later move to Billerica to be with her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and watching her grandchildren grow up.

She was the devoted wife of the late Oliver L. “Babe” Martineau. The loving mother of Maribeth Bruno & her husband David C., Therese P. Flight & her husband Mark & Frank W. Martineau & his wife Karla, all of Billerica. She is the cherished grandmother of Deanna, Marissa, Justin, Christopher, Philip, Olivia & Nicholas and loving sister of the late Frank W. Smith. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. Interment took place in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
