Thomas A. “Papa” Howard, Sr.
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, August 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Thomas A. “Papa” Howard, Sr. who died on Sunday, August 7th at the Tewksbury Hospital following a very long and hard fought battle of Huntington’s Disease, he was 70 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the Funeral home on Thursday, August 11th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at The Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel at 11:00 a.m., 302 Elm St. Everett.
Born in Medford, Tom‘s family moved to Malden when he was just a young boy. He was raised and educated in Malden. He was a graduate of Malden High School,Class of 1964. In June of 1966, he married his one and only true love, Jane E. (Wilson) Howard. The couple made their home in Malden, where they raised their family. Tom, worked as a silk screener for many years. Later he went to work at Alcon, Inc. of Wilmington, where he worked as a Supervisor in manufacturing electronic circuit boards. He retired in March 1999 due to health issues. Tom was well known for his sense of humor and ability to make people laugh. He was very proud of his Irish Heritage and was proud Boston Sports Fan.
He is the devoted husband of Jane E. (Wilson) Howard of Malden, together celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. Loving father of David A. Howard & his wife Denise of Topsfield and Sherri A. Langone & her husband Stephen of Amherst, NH & the late Thomas A. Howard, JR. Cherished grandfather of Daria G. & Drew T. Howard, both of Topsfield and Sienna M. & Stefani Langone, both of Amherst,NH. Beloved brother of Sandra Miles & Her husband Wallace ”Wally” of Saugus, George Howard & his wife Carolyn of Fontana, CA, and the late Warren Howard & Lois, Crouse. He is also lovingly survived by several nieces & nephews. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Late U.S. Army National Guard Reservist.
