Robert G. Murphy
Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Monday, February 24th, at 12 Noon in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, for Robert G. Murphy, who died on February 12th at the E. N. Rodgers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA following a long illness at 70 years old. “Bob” was born and raised in Boston, he attended Boston Public Schools. He is an alumnus of the Class of 1962. He attended several of the area colleges before entering in to the United States Navy in June of 1965. He entered the Navy to serve his country proudly during the Vietnam Conflict. He entered the Officers Candidate Program and learned to fly Jets.He separated from the Navy in 1968 and earned the rank of Lieu tent.He married Marion Fisher. They lived in Revere. Bob, continued to further his education, taking more colleges classes to further his knowledge. He went on to pursue a career in Real Estate and worked as a top salesman for several of the top brokerages. Bob often found time to give back and would volunteer at his church and community. Bob had suffered some health related problems approximately 12 years ago, which led him to become a resident at the E. N. Rogers Memorial Hospital. There he made friends instantly and was fondly know too many of the staff and residents as “Murph”. He is the devoted husband of Marion (Fisher) Murphy of whom he shared 35 years of marriage. He is the loving father of: Lorraine Cane of CA., Linda Giustina of Revere & her partner Debbie Bickoff of Woburn, Louise Lange & her fiancé Joseph Dempsey of Revere and the late Chad F.Burns and his wife Susan of Revere. He is the cherished grandfather of: Monica, Gabriel, Alex, Tiffany & Brycen and 5 great grandchildren. Interment will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date.
