George R. Kingston
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, March 27th, 2014 from 3 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for George R. Kingston, who passed following a long illness on Sunday, March 23rd at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, at 80 years. His funeral will be conducted on Friday, March 28th at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), Revere, at 10:30 a.m. Born & raised in Revere, he was a 1951 alumnus of Immaculate Conception High School. He entered the United States Army in May of 1953 during the Korean Conflict, & served until April of 1955, with the rank of Sergeant. He then returned to school at Suffolk University, graduated & continued at Salem State College to earn his Master’s in Education. Mr. Kingston spent over 30 years within the Revere School System. He spent much of his career at the Barrows School, serving as a teacher & principal, & then onto McKinley & Lincoln, where he retired in 1994. He was a “Life-Member” of the Revere Knights of Columbus, past President & member of the Revere Municipal Credit Union, member of the Retired Revere Teachers’ Association, & longtime member of the American Legion Post #61 of Revere. George began & ended his life within the confines of the “Immaculate Conception Neighborhood.” That fact, & the comfort & dedication of his extraordinary family, brought him peace & joy in the last 10 years. His dear wife, Ann M. (LaSalle) Kingston, died in February of 2003. He is the devoted father of: George W. “Rusty” Kingston & his fiancee Doreen Perry of Cheshire, Connecticut, John F. Kingston of Revere, the Director of the Revere Municipal Credit Union, & Christopher G. Kingston & his wife Melissa of Tewksbury. He is the cherished grandfather of: Jennifer A. & Jeffrey C. Kingston of Revere, Garrett R. & Cameron G. Kingston, both of Tewksbury, Olivia Rose, Ryan P. & Sean F. Kingston all of Cheshire, CT. He is also lovingly survived by his daughter-in-law, Maria K. Kingston of Revere, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews, & his brother-in-law Attorney Ronald P. Corbett, Retired Revere City Assessor. George was the last of his siblings, the brother of the late: Virginia T. Corbett, Dorothy F. Stuart, Eleanor Reardon, & Margaret Miller. He is the son of the late, George & Margaret (O’Leary) Kingston. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Community Mausoleum, Malden.
