William A. Fulchino
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, January 12th beginning at 9:00 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107),REVERE for WILLIAM A. FULCHINO, who died following a lengthy illness on Thursday, January 7th at Whidden Memorial Hospital, Everett. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St.& Winthrop Ave.),Revere at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Born & raised in Revere, “Bill” lived here for over 60 years, before moving to Reading. For over 40 years, his career with General Electric Co. of Lynn was spent concurrently with his extraordinary time with the US NAVY and the US NAVAL RESERVES, until his 60th birthday (Feb.25th, 1978)when he formally retired from the Reserves as a CHIEF ELECTRICIAN’s MATE. At G.E. he retired as a MASTER & MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. He & his elegant wife of 63 years, Mary A.(Statuto) Fulchino, were devotees of the Immaculate Conception Church of Revere & were also outstanding & generous supporters of the IC Community Parish Family. “Bill” was an usher at the church & a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a life-member of the Revere Council, #179 knights of Columbus. He joined the US NAVY in May of 1942, serving as a veteran of WW II, the Korean Conflict & the Vietnam Era & served with the NAVAL RESERVE until Feb. 25th, 1978.
He was the son of the late Ralph & Lena (Cantone) Fulchino and the dear brother of the late, Victor, Carmine & Anna Fulchino & the late Dr. Albert Fulchino, PhD. Ed. & Dr. Harry Fulchino, M.D. He is the devoted uncle of Christin Mangan & her husband, David of Wakefield, Ann Marie Hemphill of Norfolk, Ma., Thomas Fulchino of Auburn, Ma., Paul Fulchino of West Palm Beach, Fl., Anthony Statuto & his wife, Grace of Danvers, Stephen A. Statuto of Disney World, Fl., Kathleen A. McCarthy of Saugus, Robert R. Corso & his wife, Lisa M. of Middleton, Nancy E. Rollins & her husband, Steven A. of Lee, N.H. & the late Ralph Fulchino. He is also lovingly survived by many grand-nieces & grand-nephews.
