Oliva of FL.  Cherished grandmother of: Eric LeVay & his wife, Mady, & Alex Oliva, all of FL.  Dear sister of Phyllis M. “Meena” Scoppettuolo & husband Anthony J. of Wilmington, & the late: Anna Mastraci, Joseph, Libro “Al,” Chris & Anthony C. Spinazzola.  Also lovingly survived by her great-Granddaughters: Chloe Oliva, Scarlett & Sienna LeVay, & her daughter-in-law Christiane Oliva of FL, & many caring nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, & grand-nephews.  Family & friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Vertuccio & Smith Home For Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere on Saturday, March 24th at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere at 10 a.m.  Visiting hours are Friday only, from 5-8 p.m.  Parking is available left of the funeral home.  Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.  Retiree of: Kennedy’s at Northgate.

Stephen F. Collins, Sr.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, March 22nd from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, MA 02151, for Stephen F. Collins, Sr. who died unexpectedly at 70 years old, at his Revere home, Monday March 19th.  A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, March 23rd, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere at 10:30 a.m..  Mr. Collins was born and raised in Revere.  He was a 1960 alumnus of Revere High School.  He Entered the United States Marine Corps during “Peace Time” and served in the Army National Guard.  For the past 23 years he has been employed by the Town of Saugus School Department as a School Custodian.  He also had a 20 year career at the Suffolk Downs Club House.  He also worked for many years as an Iron worker Local #7.  He is the devoted father of Stephen F. Collins, Jr. & his wife Carmen M., He is the cherished grandfather of Stephen F. Collins, III, Mckayala F., Sean P., Brenden K., Christopher R.,  & Jakob A. Collins all of Revere.  He is the dearest brother of: Attorney Robert F. Collins of Dorchester, MA,  Kerry E. Haughney & her husband husband Retired U.S. Lt. Col. Joseph F. Haughney of Lynnfield, MA  and the late George T. Collins.  He is the loving uncle to George T. Collins, Jr. of Winthrop, MA, Christine Dare – Bryan of NYC, Jonathan J. Haughney & Gretchen B. Haughney both of Lynnfield and Katherine Rose Collins of Dorchester, MA.  Mr Collins was the son of the late George Collins & Katherine E. (Kerrins) Collins, a former Representative & Member of the Revere School Committee.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  Remembrances may be made to the: Christopher R. Charlotte E. (Mosher) Tomkinson

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 beginning at 9 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Charlotte E. (Mosher) Tomkinson, followed by the Funeral Service in the funeral home at 11 a.m., followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  Mrs. Tomkinson died on Sunday, March 18th at her Revere home, unexpectedly at 89 years.  Born & raised in Malden, she was an alumna of Malden High School, Class of 1941.  Upon graduating, she entered the Civil Service Employment Group & began a 40-plus year career with the Veterans’ Administration, in both the Boston & Washington D.C. offices.  She retired in 1982 with over 40 years of service as an Administrative Assistant.  In 1948, she married Arthur S. Tomkinson, a Revere Firefighter, & moved to Revere where she remained until her death.  Revere Fire Lieutenant Arthur S. Tomkinson passed in February of 2007.  She was the daughter of the late Harry & Amelia J. (Allen) Mosher, & the Sister of the late Florence Nickerson, Allan, & Warren Mosher.  She is the Beloved Sister-in-law of Retired Malden Fire Chief Roy Nickerson & his wife Dee of Malden & Florida, Jessie Mosher of Florida & Rhode Island, & Abner W. Tomkinson of Braintree.  She is also lovingly survived by her devoted caregiver Marie T. (Caggiano) Wood & her husband James T. Wood, & their children Michael J. & Tina M. Wood all of Revere, & Many nieces, nephews, Grand-nieces & Grand-nephews.

Eleanor (Reppucci) Santoro

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, March 9th from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, for Eleanor (Reppucci) Santoro, who died following a brief illness on Monday, March 5th at the Whidden Memorial Hospital.  A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, March 10th at 11 a.m, followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere at 12 noon.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Everett.  Mrs. Santoro was born and raised in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School Class of 1932.  She lived all her life in East Boston until she moved to Revere in 2001.  She retired from “Liberty Market” in East Boston, in 1981 after 35 years of service as a Head Cashier.  When Liberty Market opened in 1957, she was their second employee, serving as “the cashier”.  Soon after, Eleanor, brought all of her sisters, Ann, Carmella & Lucy to the ranks of “Clerks” at Liberty Market.  All of them worked until retirement.  Their presence at Liberty Market became ledgendary.  They (Eleanor, Ann, Carmella & Lucy) cared and attended to their customers, as extended family.  Eleanor leaves her beloved husband of 73 years, Salvatore Santoro, a retired CPA.  She is the devoted mother of, Roberta J. Tortorici & her husband Mario of Peabody, MA, Janet M. DiPaolo of Revere, MA and Richard M. Santoro & his wife Phyllis of Novato, CA.  She is the Dear sister of Ann Giglio & Lucy M. Salemme both of Revere and the late Carmella M. Elliot, Anthony A. “Tom”  Repucci, John Repucci, Joseph Repucci & Evelyn Reppucci.  She is the cherished grandmother of : Susan E. Marconi & her husband James of Lynn, MA, Stephanie A. Emmons of Woburn, MA , Stacey M. DiPaolo of Revere, MA & Laura L. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, March 8th, 2012 in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals,  773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, from 4 to 8 p.m., for retired United States Army Warrant Officer, Joseph J. Carriere, Jr. who died unexpectedly on Monday, March 5th at 84 years, after being stricken at his Revere home, & rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.  A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, March 9th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere at 10:30 a.m.  Born in Chelsea, MA, he was a life-long resident of Revere.  He was a 1945 alumnus of Revere High School.  Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army in July of 1945 and served until January of 1947.  He would spend a total of 31 years in the military & formally retired from active duty in May of 1976.  Joe was a life member of the Disabled American Veteran’s Association, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) #6712 of Beachmont, Revere & the Revere American Legion Post #61.  For many years, he was a most active member of the Revere Knights of Columbus & a past officer.  Until most recently, he was a devotee of the Immaculate Conception Parish Family & was a longtime Usher at the Church & an appointed Eucharistic Minister.  His dear wife of 59 years, Lillian G. “Annabell” (Chapman) died on June 13th, 2011.  They were an inseparable couple, always placing family first.  He is the Devoted father of: Patricia A. Marchese & her husband, Gerald “Jerry” of Peabody, & Peabody Deputy Police Chief, Scott A. Carriere & his fiance, Catherine Catalucci of Peabody & Revere.  He is the Cherished Grandfather of: Lauren E. Fanning & her husband, Josh of Peabody, Robyn L. Tuberosa of Saugus, Chase, Regan E. & Kaitlin Carriere all of Peabody.  He is also survived by his Great-Granddaughter, Everly Annabell Fanning.  He was the Brother of the late: Mary C. Broderick, Nancy M. DeMatteis, Victor, John, Peter, Andrew, & Alphonse Carriere.  Many Nieces & Nephews, Grand-Nieces & Grand-Nephews, also survive him.  Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park of West Peabody.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to: Susan G. Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, March 7th, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107), Revere, for Eric P. Diamond, who died unexpectedly at Tufts Medical Center of Boston, at 29 years, on Thursday, March 1st.  A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, March 8th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere, at 10:30 a.m.  Eric was born in Revere, attended & graduated from Immaculate Conception Grammar School, in Revere in 1997 & continued on the graduate Revere High School, Class of 2001.  Eric did attend the ButeraSchool of Art in Boston, from September of 2001 – May of 2002.  For the past seven years, Eric has lived & worked in the Worcester area, as a substance abuse counselor within the large Worcester County Drug Rehabilitation Program.  As a young boy at age eight (8), Eric was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes, which followed him throughout his lifetime.  As a young boy, he worked part-time at Immaculate Conception Parish Rectory & is remembered as an intelligent young man, with a dynamic sense of humor.  He served as an altar server at Immaculate Conception Parish, as well.  In 2003, after settling in Worcester, he founded and coached a men’s softball team, “The Diamond Cutters,” earning the 2010 undefeated Champions an 18-0 record.  Eric is the Cherished & beloved son of, Lois E. Diamond of Revere, the Director of the Senior Citizens Religious & Educational Programs.  He was the Grandson of the late, William M. & Lois L. Diamond.  He is also lovingly survived by a host of devoted & caring friends from the Worcester area.  Interment will be held privately at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, in Peabody.  In Lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to: Henry Lee Willis Community Center, 119 Forest St., Worcester, MA 01609, ATTN: Timothy Kirby & Sasha Chat.

Arthur A. Strianese

Family & friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, March 5th, 2012 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107), Revere, for Arthur A. Strianese, who died on Tuesday, February 28th at the Hammersmith Nursing Care Center of Saugus, following a long illness.  A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, at 11:15 a.m., followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  Born & raised in Revere, he graduated Revere High School, Class of 1935.  In December of 1941, he joined the United States Army, & served until December of 1945.  He was a member of the 27th Photographic Lab Squadron & flew over 100 missions over Italy & Germany, defeating the Luftwaffe.  His position within the military was to fly within the belly of the aircraft & snap hundreds of photos of the subsequent action that occurred.  Arthur was the husband of the late: R. Josephine “Josie” (Salvi) Strianese, who died in February of 1975.  He is the beloved & devoted father of: Denise Sena & her husband Thomas J. of Revere.  He is the Cherished Grandfather of: Alison J. Scali & her husband Joseph of Peabody, Jennifer J. Sena of Brockton, & Thomas J. Sena, Jr. of Revere.  He is the loving Great-Grandfather of: Joshua T. Scali, Jordan P. & Travis A. Fitzpatrick.  He was the Brother of the late: Leo & Alfred Strianese, Mildred Turnbull, Ida Hart, Sally Grasso, & Alma Tirabassi.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.

Macdonald, David I. in Revere, February 28th, 2012 following a long illness, at 84 years.  Beloved husband for 60 years to: Dorothy E. (Sokoloski).  Dear father of the late: David Macdonald & Lois E. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
