Marguerite (DeCastro) Frew

Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass on Sat., Jan. 17th at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading, MA 01864, for Marguerite (DeCastro) Frew, who passed away on January 1st at the Kaplan Family Hospice of Danvers, at 88 years. Marguerite was born & raised in Everett. She attended Everett schools and is an alumna of Everett High School Class of 1944. After graduation Marguerite worked at various places but her favorite was the famous Blinstrom’s in South Boston. In 1948 she was married to her sweet heart, the couple remained in Everett raising their five children. In later years she went to work at Palmer Manufacturing, where she held an administrative position for many years. Marguerite loved to be involved and was the past President of the VFW Women’s Auxillary Post #834 0f Everett. At the time of her death she was the current Chaplain as well. She was also past president of the Moose Lodge Everett. She also gave of herself with her many charitable works and fundraisers that she took charge of. She volunteered her time at the Chelsea Soldier’s Home, running holiday parties and making sure the residents enjoyed themselves. She led a busy and active life but always made time for her family, which was paramount. She is the devoted wife of the late John A. Frew of whom she shared 42 years of marriage. Loving & dedicated mother of Gerald F. Frew, Brian W. Frew, Douglas A. Frew all of Everett, John A. Frew & his wife Paula of Wakefield & Paul C. Frew & his wife Donna of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Brandon I. Fisher, Clinton Fisher, Jonathan Frew, Sarah Frew, Nicholas Frew, Samantha Frew, Jacqueline Frew & Patrick Frew. Adored great grand mother of Emily, Ava, Lillian, James, Isabella & Starla. Interment will be Private. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. (Ward) Conte, who died on Wednesday, December 31st, at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home after a long illness. A funeral service will follow the visitation in the Funeral Home.Dorothy grew up in East Boston and attended Boston Schools. Like many people of her generation, she went to work to help support her family. Portraying a selfless act to help better her siblings. On August 4, 1951 she would marry, the love of her life.The couple later settled in Revere and began raising their family. Devoted wife of the late Archangelo “Arkie” Conte of whom she shared 57 years of marriage with. Loving mother of Richard S. Conte & his wife Jeanne E. of Revere & the late William J. Conte. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer L. Conte of Revere. The beloved sister of the late Ruth Balchuk & Harold Ward. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. She was educated there and attended & graduated from St. John’s High School. Kay biggest pleasure in Life was being a mother, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She is the loving mother of Esther M. Vatalaro of Winthrop, Andrea E. Vatalaro, Maryellen Vatalaro both of Everett & Paul Vatalaro of SC, and the late Wendy M. Strauss & Alan J. Vatalaro. Cherished grandmother of Anthony, Rickey, Khyle, Christopher, Sara, Tristan, Dante & Eli. She is the beloved sister of  Eileen T. Prebensen of IL & the late Josephine Concannon. She is the adored great grandmother of Ahryanah & Domenik. She is the beloved wife of the late Joseph Vatalaro & David Carroll. Kay was part of a very dear & special extended Family, the many Children, families & co – workers of the Boston Higashi School.. Kay is a 25 year employee at the Higashi School. She had a profound passion about her association there. (Renda) DeLisle, who died on Friday, December 26th, at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center, after a long illness, at 88 years. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home at 10:30 following a funeral mass at 11 a.m., in St. Anthony of Padua Church , 250 Revere St., Revere. Born in Boston’s North End, she & her family would later move to Somerville. Marie was a graduate of Somerville High School Class of 1944. She would go onto Chandler Secretarial School of Boston, earning her degree as a Business Secretary. She would later marry Eugene DeLisle in 1948, they would settle in Revere. Marie left her secretarial job and took on the greatest job of “Mother”. She would take care of her family with great pride & joy. Her family was what made her happiest, being together, making memories, She is the devoted wife of the late Eugene L. DeLisle of whom she shared 45 years of marriage with. She is the loving mother of Eugene J. DeLisle of Peabody, Richard V. DeLisle & his wife Amy, Dennis J. DeLisle & his wife Judy of Tewksbury, Marie D. Demaso & her husband Edward M., II of Revere, Arthur L. DeLisle & his wife Roberta of Las Vegas, NV, Michelle D. Stancato of Wilimgton & Anthony O. DeLisle & his wife Kathleen of Groveland. She is the cherished sister of Anna Howard of Falmouth, Rose Plagenza , Frances Tencati both of CA, Elena Campbell of CT and the late Anthony Renda, Pasqualina Frasso, Nicholas Renda, Vito Renda & Vita D’Angeli. Immediately after graduation, Margi had a passion for style & cosmetology. She would earn her Certificate in Hairdressing & Comsmetology. She purchased the Solari Hair Salon in Winthrop and operated it for many years. She earned a reputation of being a top hair stylist and had an incredible following. Her success attributed from her strong work ethic & passion for her craft. She is the loving daughter of Eva M. (Sargent) Adamson of Revere & the late Arthur L. Adamson, Sr.She is the cherished mother of Victor Marjoun of Revere & his companion Shawna A. Sweeney – Adamchek of Burlington. The Beloved sister of Randy J. Adamson of Revere & the late Arthur L. Robert J. Long

Services were held privately for Robert J. Long of Revere, who died on, Tuesday December 23rd, 2014 at the V. A. Boston Healthcare System – West Roxbury Campus, at 67 years, after a long illness. Robert was born in raised in Boston’s West Roxbury section. He attended Boston Public Schools. He joined the United States Army in 1967 during the Viet Nam Conflict. During his time in “Basic Training” Robert sustained an injury that would leave him disabled. Although he was faced with a debilitating injury, it didn’t stop him from living & loving. In 1980 he would marry Dorothy Anderson, the couple would remain in Revere. Robert just in the past year discovered that he was afflicted from A.L.S., which in its very advanced stage forced him to the V.A. Medical Center, where he remained until his untimely death. He is the loving & beloved husband for over 30 years of Dorothy (Anderson) Long of Revere. He is the beloved son of the late Edward Long & Gladys (Thorsey) Long. He is survived by one sister & two late brothers. Also lovingly survived by all of his brother’s In- law & sisters in-law & many nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews. Hurley, who died on Sunday, December 21st at the Wilmington Health Care Center in Wilmington after a long illness. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, December 27th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church  at 10 a.m.(250 Revere St. Revere). Born & raised in Revere, Paul was an alumnus of Revere High School Class of 1952, Paul was a member of the varsity Football Team and played other sports as well. He received an academic scholarship to Fryeburg Academy in Maine. Paul was a proprietor of a couple Pub’s on the north shore area. It is known by all of Paul’s friends & family that he was very proud of his Irish heritage. He is devoted husband of Gloria A. (Vitale) Hurley of Revere of whom he just celebrated 50 years of marriage with. He is the loving & cherished father of Jill E. Hurley of Revere. He is the beloved brother of the late Anthony Hurley, Joseph Hurley & Catherine McCann. Also lovingly survived by several nieces & nephews. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. (Kehoe) Ristino, who passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 21st at the Melrose – Wakefield Hospital after a brief illness. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, December 29th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., in Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. &Winthrop Ave.) Revere. Born & raised in Revere. She attended Immaculate Conception School & is an alumna of the Class of 1961. After she was married & began her family, she remained in Revere. In 1973, Loretta began what would be a 30 year career for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Group Insurance Commission, as a Junior Accountant, retiring in 2003. The center of Loretta’s Life was her family. It is known that she would love to host Thanksgiving & Christmas Eve dinners, but her weekly “Macaroni Night” on Wednesday’s were legendary. She would host this dinner for almost 30 years, bringing her family together. Loretta was also the quintessential Boston Sports Fan “Living & Dying” with every win or loss. She also loved to challenge herself with her crossword puzzles in her free time.  She was the loving mother of B.F.D. Captain Paul P. Ristino, Jr. & his wife Lynn of Revere, Renee L. Pedone & her husband Edward of Saugus & Alyssa M. Thomas & her companion Kenneth Cooper of Medford. She is the beloved sister of Helena Kehoe of Revere, Francis Kehoe of Revere,Lillian Capone of Quincy, Patricia Giordano of Tyngsboro, Marilyn Cunio of Revere & Marie Cutillo of Medford and the late James Kehoe, Bernard Kehoe, Emma Hatfield & Margaret Poirier.. (Cacioppo) March, who died unexpectedly in her Revere residence on Wednesday, December 17th. Born & raised in Revere, Josephine attended Revere schools. She was an alumna of Revere High School Class of 1941. She would later begin a long career for the Federal Government as an Executive Assistant for the Department of Fish & Game. She was best known as a hard working & loving woman. Josephine did not have children but she had a deep love for all of her nieces & nephews. She was affectionately known as “Auntie Jo”. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. March. She is the loving sister of the late Jeanette Fortuna, Rosalie MacDonald, Charles Cacioppo & Frances Cacioppo. She is the cherished aunt of Joanne Flagherty & her husband Edward of Natick, Arthur M. MacDonald & his wife Nguyen Minh, Thomas R. Fortuna, Jr., Revere Fire Captain Robert J. Solomita, who died after a long illness on December 17th at his South Dennis Residence. A funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Monday, December 22nd at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 489 Broadway Everett at 10 a.m.. Born & raised in Everett. He was an alumnus of B. C. High School, Class of 1952. He would continue onto Boston College, earning a B.A. in Economics, Class of 1956. After graduation Anthony went to work for John Hancock Life as a programmer, he would retain his position there for 11 years. It was then that He found his passion in Banking. He worked in the Trust Department and remained in Trust banking for over 30 years. He retired from Bank of America, as a Senior Vice President & manager in their bank-wide Trust Services Division. During this time he would meet & marry the love of his life, Louise P. Savignano. They settled in Everett and began their family, later moving to Bedford, raising their three children. Anthony maintained a very active life in organizations such as,The Toastmasters, where he held an office for several years and a member & Chairman of the Banking Committees in Massachusetts Bankers Association. He also found time to give of himself to his community in Bedford, as a Trustee of the Bedford Free Public Library. He was a Lector & CCD Teacher at St. Michael’s church in Bedford. Although through his busy career and his associations, his best time and favorite role was husband & father. In later years it was “Papa”, he was quoted, that “He took his responsibility seriously to spoil his grandchildren & hopefully did it well”. After retiring, he & his wife would relocate to Cape Cod. He & his wife became active members & supporters of “Our Lady of the Cape”. That is where he would spend half of the year playing golf & enjoying the beautiful beaches. They would retreat to Florida in the winter where they did the same. He is the loving & devoted husband of Louise P. (Savignano) Solomita of whom he shared 56 years of marriage. He is the cherished father of Anne F. Rascoe & her husband Thomas D. of Queensbury, NY, James M. Solomita & his partner Douglas Watson of Portland, OR and Lauren M. Mello & her husband Matthew P. of Kingston. He is the adored “Papa” of Maria L. Mello, Kathryn J. Rascoe, Antonia R. Mello & Matthew J. Mello. He is the beloved brother of Michael Solomita & his wife Sharon of Stoneham & Rosemarie Spurr of Everett & her late husband Raymond. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
