Anna F. Lewis
Funeral Services and Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden was held privately for Anna F. Lewis, who passed away on January 31st at Windrose of Woburn. She was 88 years of age.
She is the beloved daughter of the late Alfred and Anna F. (Pedro) Lewis. Dear sister of Alfred W. Lewis and his wife Patricia of Revere. Cherished aunt of Lynne Lewis and her wife June of Revere, Alfred M. “Mitch” Lewis and his wife Karen of Milton, Stacey Hindle and her husband Patrick of Burlington, and Garrit Lewis and his wife Kathleen of Woburn. She is also lovingly survived by her grandnieces and grandnephews, Sean and Brooke Hindle, Miranda and Parker Lewis, and Aidan and Caitlin Lewis.
Anna worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts retiring after many years of service. Anna was always first in line to take her nieces and nephews for walks around East Boston and to the infamous Five and Dime store. Anna loved her nicknames “Anna Banana” and “Anna Lou.” “Anna Banana” was given to her by her niece and most recently by the staff at Chestnut Woods Rehab in Saugus. Anna was also lovingly known as “Anna Lou” by her family. Anna Lou had many creative talents including drawing, creating incredible animal figures out of play dough, and writing each of her grandnieces and grandnephews their own children’s book after they were born. Her friends will remember her as the most giving person they knew and she was always the first in line at Bingo!
The family would like to thank the Staff at Chestnut Woods Rehab in Saugus, The Arbors (The Parc at Harborview Senior Living) in Winthrop, The Residence at Melrose Station (Memory Care Floor) in Melrose, Windrose at Woburn Memory Care in Woburn, Home Instead, and How’s Works for their dedication and care for Anna. A special Thank You for Dr. Sarah Gottfried at CHA for her compassionate care to our beloved Anna Lou.
