Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, February 11th beginning at 12:00 p.m. Noon until 2:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), REVERE, for Annette C. (Barresi) McGlinchey who died following a long illness at Whidden Memorial Hospital, Everett on Tuesday, January 24th. Visitation will be followed by a Memorial Funeral Service in the Funeral home on Saturday at 2:15 p.m.
Born & raised in Somerville, she attended Somerville High School & graduated in 1963. About 40 years ago, she married William C. McGlinchey & the couple moved to Revere, where they remained. Bill died on May 3, 2016, following a brief illness. The couple had a son, William Anthony McGlinchey, who was ill from birth. They maintained their home and created a hospital like atmosphere, with all of the handicap accommodations and cared for him for almost 50 years. About two years, ago as Bill & Annette became older & less healthier, a decision was made to maintain the level of care in a facility outside of his home. William Anthony lives in Revere at a facility where he is splendidly looked after. Annette worked in her early work career as a Graphic Arts Technician at the former Graphic Arts Co. of Somerville, for 10yrs.
She is the beloved sister of Frank Barresi & his wife Ellen, of Halifax, MA & the late Anthony R. Barresi. She is the dear cousin to Angela Jernstedt & her husband Richard C. of Tewksbury, Kathleen Danieli of Stoneham & several other cousins, nieces & nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Joyce M. (Puppo) Barresi of Revere & her faithful care-giver James M. Morgan of Revere. Private inurnment will be held in Woodlawn Chapel Columbarium, Everett.
I am so sorry for Billy and the loss of his Mom (so soon after his Dad’s death). And also to the entire family. We will take good care of Billy at Shore and will miss his Mom’s check ins on her son she loved so much! Peace and healing to all! <3
