Anthony S. Vozella

Family & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Wednesday, January 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) Revere for Anthony S. Vozella, who died in the loving presence of his family following a long illness, he was 89 years old. A Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m.. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Anthony was born in Boston’s North End to his late parents, Anthony F. & Theresa (Coviello) Vozella. He was an only child the family later moved to Chelsea. Anthony was raised & educated in Chelsea schools & was an alumnus of Chelsea High School Class of 1951. Following high School, he enlisted in the United States Air force during the Korean war. He proudly & faithfully served his country and was honorably discharged following his service. Anthony furthered his education, by studying to become an electrician at Wentworth Institute of Technology. In 1960, he opened his own business and named it Anthony Vozella Electrical Contractors. He was a hardworking businessman, with an impeccable reputation. During this time he was raising his three children, and he proudly welcomed his son Anthony, to the business, He continued to work alongside his son, as the roles, shifted. He retired in 2012, after 52 years. Anthony moved to Salem New Hampshire with his wife Ann in 1974. He was a humble man, who knew the value of working, taking care of your family and enjoying them as well. He was a former member of the Merrit Club & past member of the Chelsea yacht Club.

He is the beloved husband of the late Ann (Gymziak) Vozella of 41 years. Loving father of Anthony F. Vozella and his wife Nancy of Saugus, Susan M. Goss & her husband Robert “Bobby” of Salem, NH & the late Linda Greene & husband Paul. The devoted son of the late Anthony F. & Theresa Vozella. Cherished papa of Jaime B. Vozella, Anthony Vozella IV, Stephanie Vozella, Paul Greene, Robert “Bobby” Goss, Lance Goss, & the late Angelina Goss and Katie Vozella, & Nicholas “Nick” Greene & 9 Great grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to St Jude Children’s research hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
