Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, June 2nd, 2013 in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, from 2 – 6 p.m. for Antoinette M. “Ann” (Orio) Scarfo, who died on Thursday, May 30th following a long illness at Courtyard Nursing Care Center, of Medford, at 95 years.  Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, June 3rd at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, 35 Brooks St., East Boston, at 10 a.m.  Born in Brooklyn, New York, she came to live in East Boston as a young girl & lived there until her husband, Adolfo “Rudy” Scarfo, died in June of 1976.  She moved to Chelsea & remained there with her daughter until moving to Peabody over 20 years ago.  “Ann” was a dedicated homemaker, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, & Aunt.  She kept the family together & enjoyed her family above everything else.  She is the devoted Mother to Donna M. Feudo & her husband Peter of Peabody, & the Cherished “Nonnie” to Theresa M. Kennedy & her husband Thomas of Danvers, Gina Chalmers & her husband Russell, Stephanie Dailey & her husband Paul, all of Peabody, & Peter J. Feudo of Ipswich.  She is the dear Sister of Jean Cowhig of Chelsea, Carmella Spolsino of East Boston, & the late: John, Peter, & Anthony Orio & Maryann Fahlstrom.  She is also lovingly survived by her Great Grandchildren – Thomas J. Kennedy, Chelsea & Gianna Chalmers, Gracelin & Jason Dailey & many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.

Monday, June 3rd, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Sacred Heart, East Boston.

Interment

Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
