Arthur E. Weaver, Sr.

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, December 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) Revere, for Arthur E. Weaver, Sr., who died following a long illness on Sunday, November 20th at the Continuing  Care Unit at Brooksby Village, Peabody. Mr. Weaver’s funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:15 a.m., in the funeral home with the Rev. Nicholas G. Granitsas, Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Revere officiating.

Mr. Weaver was born & raised in Revere, attending Revere schools & was a 1947 alumnus of Revere High School. He entered the U.S. Army in March of 1951 during the Korean Conflict & served until December 1952 as a Sergeant. His working career was with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as a Master Mechanic. He traveled throughout the state as a Lead Mechanic & Shop Supervisor repairing the “big” trucks used in special construction projects. He retired with more than 30 years of service. He was also a long-time member & officer of the “Cy Tenney” Club of Peabody, for many years. He spent most of his life in Revere (Point of Pines Section) before moving to Brooksby Village with his wife Alice E. (Twomey) Weaver in 2005. Mrs. Weaver passed on March 19, 2014.

He is the devoted father of Arthur E. Weaver Jr.& his wife, Donna of Oviedo, Florida & David M. Weaver of Tewksbury. He is the cherished grandfather of Andrew E. Weaver of Oveido, FL., David M.”D.J.” Weaver Jr. of Tewksbury & Jessica N. Weaver of Wilmington. He was the brother of the late, Claire A. “Sis” Smith, Mildred Covitz & Ernest M. Weaver, Jr. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews, who were most faithful to “Uncle Arthur”. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery ,Everett.

We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
