Austin F. Curley

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, June 14th, 2014 at 4 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Austin F. Curley, who died on Wednesday, June 11th after being stricken at his Revere home & rushed to Whidden Memorial Hospital, Everett, at 70 years.  Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m., followed by the funeral service in the funeral home at 7:15 p.m.  Born & raised in Revere, he was an alumnus of St. Mary’s High School of Lynn, Class of 1961.  Most of Austin’s working career was spent as a long distance truck driver for several trucking firms.  Failing health demanded an early retirement in 2005.  He is the beloved husband & best friend for over 46 years to Charlotte F. (Portalla) Curley.  He is the devoted father of Ms. Arwen of Maui, Hawaii, & Melissa C. Oscar & her husband Paul of Saugus.  Austin is also lovingly survived by his surrogate niece, Dana Catizone of Melrose, & many friends.  He was also the dear son of the late, Austin H. & Grace M. (Conner) Curley.  Interment is private.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Rd., Waltham, MA 02451.

Funeral Service

Saturday, June 14th, 2014 at 7:15 p.m. in the Funeral Home.

Interment

Will be private.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
