Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, October 31st, 2014 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Barbara W. (Murphy) Tildsley, who died on Monday, October 27th at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, following a brief illness, at 79 years.  Her funeral mass will follow the visitation at the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), at 11 a.m.  Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.  Born & raised in Medford, she attended Medford schools & remained in Medford until moving to Vallejo, California in 1977 with her husband & ten children.  She returned to Massachusetts in 2008 after 31 years in California, making her home with her daughter, Joanne, of Revere.  In Vallejo, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post in Vallejo.  She was the wife of the late William H. Tildsley, Sr., who passed in June of 1991.  She is the devoted mother of Joanne L. Tildsley & her husband Henry R. of Revere, William H. Tildsley, Jr. & his wife Patti of Hawaii, Paul A. Tildsley of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Sidney A. Tildsley & wife Mary of Aurora, Ohio, Barbara “Sissy” Schmidt & her husband Ritchie of Vallejo, CA, Thomas S. Tildsley of Vallejo, CA, Dorothy E. “Dolly” Sturtevant & her husband Wayne of New Haven, Vermont, Robert A. Tildsley & his wife Nan of Vallejo, CA, Michael S. Tildsley & his wife Beckie of Silver Springs, NC, & Victor L. Tildsley & his wife Cheryl of Vallejo, CA.  She is the dear sister to Pauline E. Howley of Thomas River, New Jersey, William T. Murphy of Oklahoma, Janice E. Nowak of West Medford, Virginia L. Matt & her husband Francis of Revere, & the late: Marjorie E. Murphy & Robert A. Murphy.  Also lovingly survived by 24 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, & many nieces & nephews.  She was also the daughter of the late: Paul W. Murphy & Dorothy W. (McMullen) Murphy.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the: New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.

Funeral Mass

Friday, October 31st, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere.

Interment

Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.

We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
