Celia “Sally” T. Gaeta

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, September 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for gaeta-sallyFunerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) Revere for Celia “Sally” T. (Trujillo) Gaeta, who died peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 17th following a long illness, she was 82 years. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, September 23rd, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks St. East Boston.

Born, raised & educated in Ft. Worth, TX. In 1958, she married Alessandro L. “Alex” Gaeta. She and her husband moved to East Boston, to begin their life together and raise their family. Sally’s working career was eclectic, due to her many talents. She worked in Sales for many years at various companies, as well as a photographer. She was passionate about her photography and loved how she was able to capture moments of beauty. She was also a Translator for the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center. Sally worked up to her recent hospitalization. She was a sales clerk at the Logan Airport Hilton Hotel’s Gift Shop. Sally loved people and through her work, it allowed her to meet and connect with people. Sally was a former East Boston Brownie & Girl Scout leader for several years.

She is the devoted wife of the late Alessandro L. “Alex” Gaeta. Loving mother of Nanina C. Gaeta – Coletta & husband Edmund J., Jr. of East Boston, Rosemary F. Murray of Revere & her late husband Thomas P. Murray and the late Eugene A. Gaeta, USN. Cherished grandmother of Christopher E. Coletta & wife Mavis of Baltimore, MD, Angela F. Coletta & her husband Rich Acevedo of China, Gabriella D. Coletta of East Boston, Elizabeth A. Gaeta – Sanders & husband Jason of Memphis, TN, Kathryn R. Murray & Rachel C. Murray both of Revere and the late Matthew T. Murray. Adored great grandmother of Gianna, Jason & Alessandro. Beloved sister of the late Arturo, Sabino, Lupe, Raul, Felix, Francisco & Biviano Trujillo, Jr. Dear sister in-law of Martha A. Gaeta of East Boston, Jude Peterson of Maine & Florida & the late Frances, Carmen, Dante & Sonny Gaeta. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, & grandnephews both in Mass & Texas. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
