Charles A. Catyb

Family & friends· are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 19th in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), REVERE, from 9:00 a.m. thru 11:00 a.m., for Charles A. Catyb, who died following a lengthy illness on Thursday, May 12th, at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home, nine days, shy of his 92nd birthday. The funeral service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 11:15 a.m.

Born & raised in Revere, he attended Revere schools & entered the U.S. Navy in Sept. of 1940 and served until July of 1947. Most of his working career was with the Quincy Ship Yard as a master welder, for over 30 years, and then beginning a new career as a member of the Security System at Boston Aquarium, where he remained for several years.

He was the son of the late Alley S. & Agnes (Orsagova) Catyb. He is the beloved brother of Albert A. Catyb of New Orleans,La., Martin F. Catyb & his late wife, Deanna of Revere & the late, Alley S. Catyb, Rose & Joseph Catyb & Dorothy Burke. He is the loving father of Carol A. Bowser & her husband, Richard of Hudson, North Carolina, Robert A. Catyb of Hull, Ma. & Katrina & Kayla Catyb, both of Brockton. He is also survived by his wife, Tina Catyb of Brockton. He is the grandfather of Michael R. Bowser and his wife, Aubrey of North Bergen, New Jersey, Ann M. Wilkinson & her husband, Jeffrey of Newport Richey, Fla., Robert & Christopher Catyb, both of Hull, Ma. He is also the great grandfather of Clara & Adrian Bowser and Julianne Wilkinson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Patients’ Activities Fund at Soldiers’ Home, 91 Crest Ave., Chelsea, Ma.02150.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
