Dear Eunice and Family. I’m a tag-a-long with Ann Lev…and the love and hospitality you shared with us in Newton Highlands was marvelous. And having you with us in Seattle was great.
The only thing wrong with the obit is that it doesn’t touch the “bigness of a wonderful teasing, faithful, full of emotion and opinion” person that was so loved. Charlie was so full of life and let you know it. He loved those wretched Red Sox into every victory they could get! He relished the Pats. He devoted time, talent and resources to his beloved churches. He was such a lovable, charming man and a tease. Just fun and love all wrapped up into this big personality. He was amazing!
Guess you figure out how much we loved him. And Eunice, I know how much you will miss him.
All our Love, Prayers and hopes for comfort and Peace. K&A

    To the Entire Shishmanian Family:
Please accept my condolences for your loss. As a friend of Anita, Charlie’s “Little Sister,” I have learned of their love and devotion to one another. Anita mourns the loss of her brother very much, yet I suspect she feels very fortunate to have his wife and children still in her life. Charlie has left them so many lovely memories to hold and to share.

My sincere condolences to you and the family. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
I recall how much time you two spent together. You were a role model of a Loving and Caring Family. May all your precious memories comfort you during this heartbreaking time.
It was such a privilege and honor to know Charlie. I always admired his wonderful sense of humor and his positive attitude. He was such a special person. He will truly be missed by all of us.
May his Sould Rest in Peace!

We were blessed by Charlie’s presence for many years, and always delighted by his storytelling skills, big laugh, and indeed his big heart. My favorite memory is Charlie sneaking into our kitchen, dressed in full Santa garb and ready to Ho-Ho-Ho when I walked in! This gentle giant just loved to bring a smile to everyone.

The love he and Eunice shared was a gift to witness, and their passion to make a difference will stay with us always.

God bless your family, and we are grateful that their three blessed sons will keep Mom company during the return to Massachusetts and beyond. Sending our Love to all.

Charlie was my “big brother”. Given that he was 17 years older then me that was true both figuratively as well as literally. He was always like a sun beam spreading cheer and warm feelings whenever he stepped into a room. When I was little he was constantly trying to get me to do acrobatics like stand in his hand as he lifted me up in the air. It was a little terrifying but then, he was my BIG brother. I cried at his wedding as in my child’s brain I thought it would keep him from crying. He and Eunice made me an aunt at the ripe old age of 10, and again 2 more times. It was Charlie who walked me down the isle after my dad died, it was my BIG brother who gave me away. I’ll miss him deeply, but am oh so grateful for his presence in my life. To Eunice and to my nephews my condolences. Find strength that his love with always be with you, and for all the memories he gave us all.

For the brief time I have known Charlie and also Eunice through 2nd Presbyterian, I so admire both of them. Charlie had a joy of life and a twinkle in his eye. When he talked to you, you knew he was authentic and deep. I was fortunate to know him and will miss him. My deepest love and God’s comfort to Eunice and his family.

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
