Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Clara (Vega) Tollo who passed on Friday, February 21st after a brief illness.  A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, February 26th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church (Revere) at 10 a.m.  Born in Italy, she came to the United States of America as a young girl with her family, settling in East Boston.  Mrs. Tollo lived in Revere for the past 38 years & lived in East Boston for many years.  Her working career was spent as a stitcher in Boston’s Garment District.  Mrs. Tollo was the “Hallmark” Mom, Grandmother, Sister & Aunt.  Family was indeed her priority.  She & her late husband, Joseph Tollo, who passed away February of 1999, were long-time devotees of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Revere.  She is the devoted mother of Arleen C. Puccia & her husband Philip of Andover, and Joanne DiGregorio & her husband Eugene of Melrose.  She was the dear sister of the late: Olga Conklin, Rose C. Sistis, Amadeo & Domenic Vega.  She is the cherished grandmother of Philip Puccia, III & his wife Dorothy of Andover, Joseph D. Puccia of Boston, Jessica L. Hudson & her husband Ross of Chicago, IL, Roger M. DiGregorio & his wife Eden of Wellington, FL, Tamara L. Josti & her husband Timothy of East Brookfield, and Dean Jeffrey DiGregorio & his wife Tonya of Methuen.  She is also lovingly survived by her 10 great grandchildren: Alexandra, Lillian & Madeline Puccia, Cody, Logan & Tyler Josti, Brock & Gia DiGregorio, Siana, Quillen & Tessa Rose Hudson and several nieces & nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.  Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
