Darlene J. (Allen) Attardo

Funeral Services were held privately due to the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic for Darlene J. (Allen) Attardo, who died on Friday, May 1st at the Katzman Center for Living in Chelsea, after becoming victim of Covid-19 Virus, she was 69 years old.

Darlene was born in Somerville, later the family moved to Revere. She was raised in Revere & attended Revere Public Schools. She married her husband Frank “Franco” Attardo in 1968, the family remained in Revere where they raised their children.  Darlene worked very hard to help support her family. She was a cashier for local gas stations & became manager in her later years. Her children were always paramount & it was her dedication to be the mother she was. Darlene worked double shifts to provide for her family & never complained, she was a selfless mother and always put her family first.

She is the devoted wife of 34 years to the late Frank “Franco” Attardo. Loving & cherished mother of Denise M. Attardo of Revere, Frank A. Attardo & his wife Angela of Manchester, NH & the late Sean Baird. Adored grandmother of Damon A. Attardo & his fiancé Alison Elfman & Kevin W. Groch, all of Revere. Cherished great grandmother of Payton & Maya Attardo of Revere. She is also lovingly survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, friends & extended family.


Funeral Services were Private

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
