Delia M. “Dee” Martins-DeModena

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, December 19th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE, for Delia M. “Dee” Martins-DeModena, who passed on Wednesday, December 11th at her Revere home, following a lengthy battle with metastatic cancer. Her funeral mass will follow the Visiting Hours in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) REVERE at 11:30 a.m. and will proceed immediately to Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett for interment.

Delia “Dee” was born in the District of Praia da Vitoria, Portugal on March 11, 1962 & came to settle in the U.S.A. in 1967. She was a resident of Cape Cod & an alumna of Sandwich High School, Class of 1980. She was also a resident of New Hampshire. She has been a Revere resident for over 22 years. While only working for about three years at Burlington Coat Factory in the supervisory level, she was well-loved & respected throughout the company. Actually, “Dee” was always received, no matter where or when, with warmth & genuine love & friendship. She thrived on the gift of family & friends.

She is the beloved wife & soulmate to Leonard V. “Lenny” DeModena. Adored mother to Desiree E. Murray, Atty. Dianne E. DeModena-Saunders & husband William Saunders, all of Revere & Denine E. Morgan of Warwick, R.I. Devoted daughter to Laura (Nunes) Martins- Marques & husband Antonio of Madison, ME & the late John F. Martins. Dear sister of Grace Carreiro of Anson, ME, Jo-Ann Pouliot & husband Danny of R.I., Suzann Martins of Ohio, Diane Darosa & husband Alvaro of FL, Caroline Martins of R.I., John Martins & wife, Samantha of Madison, ME & the late, Maria & Grace Martins, John Martins & Maria Natale. Cherished grandmother to Destiny R. & Deja S. Martin & William O. Saunders, all of Revere & Delina A. MacKay of Warwick, R.I. She is also lovingly survived by many special aunts, uncles, cousins & friends of many years.

Interment

Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett

In lieu of flowers & because of Dee’s extraordinary love for children, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
