Diane was born on September 18, 1946 to her late parents, Orlando & Doris M. (Maggioli) Nicotera in Everett. She was one of three children and was raised & educated in Revere. She was an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1964. After high school, Diane began working at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, where she worked in the transportation department retiring as a supervisor, after a career spanning over 40 years. During this time, she met and married the love of her life, Dennis P. Cohane. She & Dennis made their home in the Point of Pines section of Revere. Together they proudly raised their three children. Diane was a loving woman who was known for her incredible cooking, sharp sense of humor and fiery personality. She loved entertaining and hosting holidays, especially Christmas, was her favorite holiday. She was famous for her many legendary “Patriot Football Sunday’s”. She put a holiday style feast every Sunday & Superbowl. This tradition of 25 years filled the house with family & friends, much laughter and all of Diane’s delicious cooking. Diane’s passing is a tremendous loss to her family, but she would insist to continue living and toast her at any occasion.
She is the beloved wife of Dennis P. Cohane of 46 years of Revere. The loving mother of Courtney C. Cohane of Revere, Justin J. Cohane & wife Nicole of Lynn, & Brandon M. Cohane of Revere. The cherished “Nanny” of Anthony & Devon Molineaux, and Justin “J.J.” & Mason Cohane. The dear sister of the late Dennis V. Nicotera & Patricia M. Nicotera. The treasured sister-in-law of Janet Piatek & husband Robert of Saugus and Donna Cohane of Revere. She also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, & grandnephews.
Diane. Simply an amazing woman. Crazy, fun, loud, kind, loving, caring, insanely in love with her children and grandchildren. Diane was just freaking awesome. I hated eggplant, but Diane’s eggplant parmesan was the only eggplant dish I could ever eat and enjoy. How did she get me to do that? Well, her cooking was that amazing. She will always be loved.
I was a very lucky person to have been blessed to of had Diane in my life as growing up w/ Dennis & the kids. So close we considered them family & best friends of my mom & dad. I know that shes been fighting for a while & now she’s out of pain. I’ll keep her memories alive in my heart and celebrate her life. I’ll never forget when we went to the Cape & the waves took her down & we all laughed so hard ( I remember it like it was yesterday). My deepest heartfelt condolences for the unfortunate loss of one PHENOMENAL MOM/WIFE/FRIEND. Until we meet again
Dennis, Courtney, Justin, and Brandon

I will remember Diane always as a beautiful, fun, amazing woman. Her kindness shown through everything and her eggplant Parmesan was the best in the world. You will be missed.
We cried, we laughed, we prayed. We heard her yelling “DENNIS DENNIS” from the kitchen at 11 Lynnway during Patriots games and when Dennis didn’t answer, she swore oh yeah she swore and we laughed some more. She could go from zero to 100 in 3.2 seconds then back to smiles while she cheered on the Patriots in front of the TV. This was classic Diane. So glad and fortunate we had her in our lives . RIP Lady Diane. Love always Jean and Jack
