Diane was born on October 7, 1951, to her late parents, Angelo & Rose (Juliano) Russo. She was one of three children & was raised & educated in Everett. She was an alumna of Everett High School, Class of 1969. During her senior year of high school, the family moved to Revere. Diane furthered her education by completing her Nursing Program and becoming a Registered Nurse. In 1973, Diane married Richard Campbell. The couple resided in Revere, then moved to North Andover, then settling in Haverhill. Diane worked at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center for over 20 years as an ER Nurse. She then took a position as a nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in adult medicine. She retired with a career spanning 40 years of nursing. Diane biggest joy she had in life, was her daughter Jessica. Diane worked full time and always made time to be a fun loving & nurturing mother to her pride & joy. She cherished the wonderful relationship she had with her daughter and all the fun they shared with one another. It was Diane’s inspiration that allowed Jessica to pursue her career in Nursing as well. Diane also enjoyed traveling with her husband Richie as well as her tight knit group of lifelong friends whom she treasured dearly. Her life and her memory will always have a place in the many hearts she’s touched.
She is the beloved wife of 40 years to the late Richard P. “Richie” Campbell. Loving & proud mother of Jessica A. Campbell & her companion Robert A. McCann of Methuen. Dear sister of Denise “Dede” Badolato & her husband John M. Sr. of Tewksbury & the late Angelo Russo, Jr. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, friends & extended family.
Jessica, I am so sorry about the loss of your mother. She was a dear friend of mine for many many years. Since our days at Grover Manor, a wonderful friendship was born. We had so much fun in our youth.
The best thing that ever happened to her was your father and you. She loved you so much and you was so proud of you. You were her light and right to the end always shining.
I love you and share in your sorrow.
She was a great friend, a loving mother and a wonderful nurse.
I will never forget her.
All my love,
Carolyn
Dear Jessica,
I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I worked with your mother at Grover Manor Hospital and never met a sweeter, kinder, and more compassionate person. I always looked forward to having a friendly conversation with her and observing her comely smile whenever she was in my presence. Your mother was an exceptional nurse. She always performed her nursing duties with impeccable excellence. More importantly, your mother would always leave her patient with a smile on their faces. I cannot begin to tell you how special she was to be able to do such a thing. I will always cherish the times I shared with your mother at the hospital. What we have once enjoyed deeply about your mother can never be lost. All that we loved about your mother shall become part of us.
I think your mother’s greatest legacy will be you. I know you are destined to do amazing things in the future because your mother gave you these unique qualities. Your mother might not be with you physically but her spirit will always be with you for eternity. I am wishing you peace and comfort as you face this very sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wonderful family.
Sincerely,
Gerald Cifuni
