Domenic J. DeCristoforo

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, May 9th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) REVERE, for Domenic J. DeCristoforo who died on Thursday, May 4th at Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness at 90 years. A funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 10th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) REVERE at 10:00 a.m.

Domenic was born, raised & educated in Revere. He was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1944. Domenic enlisted in the United Sates Army during the Second World War and he faithfully & honorably served his country from December 1944 to November 1946. He was married in 1953 and he and his wife remained in Revere where they raised their family together. Domenic valued education and attended Northeastern University earning a B.S. Degree in Accounting in 1953. He then began a 25 year career with Somerville Lumber as a Purchasing Agent. Domenic was a very humble man with very strong values and devotion to his faith and family. After Domenic retired, he remained active and became the Supervisor for the Senior Park & Maintenance Program in Revere. Domenic was also a member of the Finance Committee for Immaculate Conception Church & School. He was also involved with Revere Public Library & Revere Youth Center. Domenic’s warm gentle smile and most friendly personality is how most people will remember him.

He is the devoted husband of 64 years to Lorraine A. (Arsenault) DeCristoforo of Revere. He is the beloved son of the late Joseph S. & Teresa (Colella) DeCristoforo and loving father of Richard J. DeCristoforo & his wife Marie of Revere, Robert J. DeCristoforo & his late wife Lydia of Derby, KS & Marie A. Bucci & her husband Peter of Revere. Cherished grandfather of Diana J. Finn & her husband Thomas of Peabody, Daniel J. DeCristoforo & his wife Stephanie of Danvers, Sarah DeCristoforo & Elizabeth DeCristoforo, both of Derby, KS. Adored great grandfather of Emma M., Daniela M. DeCristoforo and Vivian R. Finn. Dear brother of Cynthia C. Simpson of Revere & her late husband Malcolm & Rita P. Paul of Revere & her late husband George R. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
