Edith P. (Salvatore) Graf

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Wednesday, February 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) REVERE for Edith P. (Salvatore) Graf, who passed following a long illness on Sunday, February 17th at Rosewood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Peabody. Her Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. and immediately will be followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born & raised in Chelsea, she was a 1936 alumna of Chelsea High School & then continued onto Mass. College of Art as a member of the Class of 1938. For about five years, she worked for the former “Legget’s Drug Store Group” at their Boylston St. location within the cosmetic department. She married her childhood sweetheart in 1947, Revere Auxiliary Police Chief, Robert E. Graf & began their family of 5 children, 10 grandchildren & 10 great-grandchildren. Chief Bob passed in February of 1982, which marked Edith’s move to Lynnfield, over 25 years ago. She was a member of the Lynnfield Senior Center and enjoyed the Yoga classes immensely. She was blessed with a very long life, just 4 months shy of her 100th birthday.

She is the adored mother to Robert M. Graf & his wife, Linda of Lynnfield, Linda M. Lamoly & her husband, Ronald of Ocala, Florida, Nancy A. Schifino & her late husband, Michael of Lynnfield, Deborah G. Selvitella & her husband, Henry A. of Newbury & Michael J. Graf & his wife, Daniella of Newton. She is also lovingly survived by ten (10) grandchildren, ten (10) great-grandchildren & many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. She is the dear sister to the late Angelina DiScipio, Phillip, Alfred & Charles Salvatore.

    I am sorry for your loss. I just found out last night.
    Edie, was such a great, strong person, she will live on in our memories of sitting on the porch on Suffolk Ave. I was deeply saddened by the news of her passing. My heartfelt condolences to your family.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
