Elena M. (Mogavero) Pantano

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) REVERE on Monday, July 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., for Elena M. (Mogavero) Pantano, who died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 6th at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere, she was 90 years old. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 489 Broadway, EVERETT at 11:00 a.m., immediately followed with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Elena was born & raised in Medford. She was a 1948 alumna of Medford High School, Class of 1948. She was married to her husband Albert W. Pantano, Jr. for 58 years. The couple resided in Revere for many years while they raised their children. Elena worked for many years as a waitress at the Ritz Cafe on Revere St. in Revere, the Chateau Deville & the Fernwood. She & her husband later moved to Everett, where she has been for about 15 years. She was a devoted & faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Everett. Elena spent her days at the Revere Moose #2712 where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post. There, she had many friends and loved to play bocce. She also loved to take trips to the casinos. Her family recalls all of the many wonderful holidays she hosted throughout the years & her legendary cooking. She was a simple woman that you would immediately love and want to be your friend.

She is the devoted wife of 58 years to the late Albert W. Pantano, Jr. Loving mother of Albert J. Pantano & wife Janet M. of The Villages, FL, formerly of Georgetown & Dennis Pantano of Everett. Proud & cherished grandmother of Amanda M. McMahon & husband Lawrence of Conifer, CO, Amie J. Richards & husband Maxwell of Methuen & Andrea L. Pantano of Cambridge. Adored great grandmother of Oliver George. Dear sister of the late Camille Young – Fischer, Sebastian “Buster” Mogavero & Jennie Parisi. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews & friends.

    We are so sorry for your loss and sorry we can’t be there with you today to celebrate the life of this special woman. Elena was loved by many and will surely be missed by her family and friends. Her warm and gentle spirit was felt by all who came into contact with her during her long life. May she rest in peace and may the family memories be a comfort to them as they grieve the loss of their dearly beloved.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
