Emile J. “Jimmy” Campanaro
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, July 29th, 2014 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Emile J. “Jimmy” Campanaro, who died unexpectedly at his Revere residence on Thursday, July 24th, at 71 years. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, July 30th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere, at 10 a.m. Born & raised in East Boston, he was a 1963 alumnus of Boston English High School. “Jimmy” had a 17-year career with the Massachusetts Port Authority. “Jimmy’s” years at Massport were a tremendously happy time for him. His winning personality & ability to cope with work related problems was legendary. As a young man, he was an avid baseball fan & sports fan. He often wrote sports commentaries for the Boston Globe & the East Boston Times. He lived most of his life in the Orient Heights section of East Boston before moving to Revere 17 years ago. He is a veteran of the United States Army during the Viet-Nam era. He was the beloved son of the late, Louis & Clara (Tedeschi) Campanaro, & the cherished brother of: Francis A. “Chuck” Campanaro & his wife Elizabeth M. of Leesburg, Florida, Eugene L. “Gene” Campanaro & his wife Linda of Revere, & Richard L. Campanaro & his wife Claire M. of Bedford, Texas. He is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
