Frances J. (Toomey) Bonner

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, May 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Vertuccio & SmithBonner Frances 2 Home for Funerals 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Frances J. (Toomey) Bonner who passed away on May 2nd at Emerson Hospital in Concord at 84 years. A  funeral mass will be held at 12:00p.m. (Noon) in Immaculate Conception Church, 133 Beach St, Revere.

Born and raised in East Boston, the family moved to Beachmont, Revere. Franny was a 1950 alumna of East Boston High School and went to work for New England Tel. & Tel. She worked there for many years before taking a position with James F. Murphy, Inc. of Cambridge as an office manager. In 1968, she and her family moved to Concord, MA, where she became most active in the Girl Scouts as a Den Mother. She was also a Team Mother and chaperone for the Haydenettes Recreation Center of Lexington synchronized ice skating team, traveling all over the country. In the 60s and 70s, she was a very active member of St. Michael’s Parish of Bedford, MA, where she served on many committees and taught CCD and Sunday School.

 

She is the devoted wife of 51 years to her childhood sweetheart, James A. “Archie” Bonner of Concord. Loving mother of Kassia W. Reynard of Columbia, MO, Kim A. Bonner of Littleton and Kara J. Dobbins and her husband Kenneth of Stow. Beloved sister of the late Ellen Kanall, Margaret Vieira, Catherine Reynolds, Mary Tierney, Anna M. Pedro, Alice M. Toomey, Agnes F. Toomey, Thomas J. and William J. Toomey. She is also lovingly survived by 28 nieces and nephews and many grand-nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
