Francis B. “Frank” Schroeder, Jr.

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, October 13th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE for Francis B. “Frank” Schroeder, Jr., who passed away on October 6th. He was 78 years of age.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Francis B., Sr. & Emma L. (Ittner) Schroeder. He attended Boston schools and was a 1962 graduate of B.C. High. He entered college to continue his education, but only after a year, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. His service in the military spanned 4 years and, while abroad, he learned to speak Russian. Frank utilized his new skills and served as an interpreter, intercepting and translating Russian intelligence for the United States armed forces. He was honorably discharged in 1968 and he returned home and enrolled in Boston State College, achieving his bachelor’s degree. He married Patricia A. (Phelen) and the couple began their family. They would eventually settle in Revere and have been residents for 41 years. Frank worked for many years for Cigna Corporation and finished his career, working as the Operations Manager for Best Buy. A career he excelled at due to his outgoing and warm personality. Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who worked hard to support his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and together he and his wife shared 44 years of marriage.

He is the devoted husband of 44 years to Patricia A. (Phelan) Schroeder of Revere. Beloved father of Francis B. Schroeder, III & his wife Tiffany of Cummings, GA & Kathleen Schroeder & her partner Kristen O’Neill of Revere. Cherished grandfather of Lillian C. & Jack N. Schroeder. Dear brother of Daniel P. Schroeder of Hudson. Adored brother-in-law of Pamela A. Sullivan & her husband John “Sully” of West Roxbury and Judy Antonelli of Allston. He is also lovingly survived by his nephew & his 3 nieces. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Midha & Dr. Ma along with the staff at Melrose Wakefield Hospital.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.

To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
