Geraldine (Frongillo) DeSisto

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday, July 9th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE, for Geraldine (Frongillo) DeSisto, who died on Saturday, July 6th at the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Malden, after a brief illness. She was 85 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, July 10th beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 10:00 a.m. and immediately followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Geraldine was born & raised in Revere. She attended Revere schools and was an alumna of Revere High School. Geraldine lived all of her 85 years at the very house she was born in. She was married to Anthony J. “Tony” DeSisto and they settled in that very home, where together they shared 64 years of marriage & raised their six children. The family home was the “Mecca” mainly because of Geraldine. She was a true matriarch of her family. Family was the most important part of her life. Having the family over at the holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, baby announcements & Sunday dinner was the place to be. As long as the family was together, memories were being made. The home was filled with delicious food and, above all, love. Geraldine’s legacy certainly is her family, with a sense of strong values and an abundance of love for one another.

She is the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. “Tony” DeSisto, who died on July 11, 2017. Devoted & loving mother of Donna M. Ferrante & husband Ret. Revere Fire Lt. Frank Ferrante, Doreen M. Aloisi & husband Anthony, Deann M. Iandolo & husband Normand all of Revere, Dwayne A. DeSisto & wife Somijit of Bethlehem, NH, Danae M. McLaughlin & husband John of Saugus & Darren J. DeSisto & wife Gina M. of Revere. Cherished grandmother to Anthony R. Aloisi & wife Amie of Haverhill, Nichole Ferrante, Danielle Iandolo of Revere, Joseph D. Aloisi & wife Melissa of Danvers, Frank T. Ferrante & wife Elizabeth of Middletown, NJ, Dr. Dianna M. Iandolo & her wife Jenna Iandolo of Lynn, Christina M. Scali & her husband Paul of Revere, Christen M. McLaughlin of Danvers, Michael A. Ferrante of So. Boston, Anthony D. DeSisto of Derry, NH, Gino A. DeSisto of Bethlehem, NH, Matthew J., Emily M. & Ryan A. DeSisto all of Revere & the late Andrew J. DeSisto. Dear sister of Andrew Frongillo of Revere, Dennis Frongillo & wife Sally of Old Orchard, ME & the late Ernest V. Frongillo, Sr. Adored grandmother of her 10 great grandchildren Gianna, Isabella, K.J., Eva, Michael, Joseph, Thomas, Joseph, Aubrey & Anna. To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
