Gerardo “Jerry” Leone

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, June 16th from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Leone, GerardoFunerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Gerardo “Jerry” Leone who passed away on Monday June 13th, at Massachusetts General Hospital, following a long Illness, he was 76 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, June 17th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart Church, Brooks St. East Boston at 10 a.m..

Born & raised in San Nicola Baronia Province of Avellino. Jerry was also educated in Avellino as well. As a young man in his early Twenties, he began his journey to America. He immediately went to work in the Meat Packing District of Boston, as a Meat Cutter. Jerry settled in East Boston, where he and his wife Rosa began their life together and started their family. Jerry was of proud of his Italian Heritage, and was thankful to be in America, in which he demonstrated with his great work ethic and love for his family. He also would be found working in the garden at his home, growing a variety of fruits and vegetables.

He is beloved husband of Doan Le of East Boston & the former husband of 35 years to the late Rosa G. (Gerardi) Leone. Cherished father of Alfonso Leone & his wife Lisa of East Boston and Roseanne D’Alleva & her husband Ralph L. of Wakefield. Loving grandfather of Giana & Philip D’Alleva of Wakefield. Dear brother of 5 siblings. Also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, & grand nephews. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Community Mausoleum, Malden.

We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
