Gertrude R. (Goudreau) Cahill
Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, April 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Gertrude R. (Goudreau) Cahill, who passed away at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center on March 31st. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St, Revere at 11:00 a.m.
Born in Manchester, NH, she attended St. Edmond High School. She was well known for working at some of the most popular stores located on Elm St. in downtown Manchester such as Modern Bride, Pariseaus and Sydney’s. She had been in sales and also worked as a consultant and buyer and would frequently travel to and from New York. She moved to Revere in 1967 after she married her husband Charles, who was a successful owner of his own Insurance Agency in Revere. During those times, she would help out with assisting in the business. In 1998, she moved to Ogunquit, ME for retirement and returned to MA taking residence in Middleton, MA in 2004 to be closer to her family. In 2006, she returned to Revere.She is the daughter of the late Roland and Laurianna (Dumont) Goudreau of Manchester, NH. Devoted wife of the late Charles F. Cahill. Loving mother to Jennifer Cheever and her husband Paul (Revere Fire Department) and cherished grandmother of Trisha and Erika Cheever, all of Revere. Beloved sister of Raymond and his wife Nancy, Bernard and his wife Lorraine, Helen Coutu and her husband Norman, the late Gilbert and surviving wife Barbara, the late Claudette Houle and surviving husband William and the late Pauline Cote and surviving husband Larry, all of Manchester, NH. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
