Gloria J. Perullo

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, June 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway, REVERE for Gloria J. Perullo, who passed on Saturday, June 20th  at the Boston Medical Center, following a brief illness. A Graveside Service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, MALDEN at 12:00 p.m. Masks and/or facial coverings, social distancing guidelines & capacity limits are in effect in the funeral home and visitors are asked to visit briefly and exit the funeral home to allow for other guests to enter.

Born, raised & educated in East Boston, she lived there until moving to Winthrop in 1986. Gloria had a 27-year career with Colonial Provision of Boston as a packer & processor. Family always & forever meant everything to Gloria & she most enjoyed the company of her daughter, Carol, Vinnie & her 3 boys, Anthony, Santino & Dominic. Gloria was a long-time member of the Third Order of St. Francis (Mt. Carmel Chapter) Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, East Boston. She was most proud of her affiliation with the Third Order & received much comfort & joy from her association.

She was the daughter of the late Louis & Maria (Santoro) Perullo & the cherished mother of Carol F. Sorrentino & her husband, Vincent of Winthrop. She is the devoted grandmother to Anthony J. Perullo & his former wife, Renee of Winthrop. She is also lovingly survived by her 2 (two) great-grandsons, Santino & Dominic Perullo. She is the last of her siblings. Dear sister of the late Philomena Lepore, Frank, Anthony, John, Edward & Charles Perullo, Louise Tolentino, Yolanda Tramonte, Anna Birchett & Virginia & Michael Perullo.

Visiting Hours

Thursday, June 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Graveside Service

Thursday, June 25th at 12:00 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s’ Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
