Gloria T. (Lopez) Woodland

Family & friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, June 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m. (Noon), for Gloria T. (Lopez) Woodland, who passed on Tuesday, June 27th ending a lengthy period of failing health at the Golden Living Center – Dexter House of Malden. Following the visitation, her Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 12:15 p.m.

Born & raised in East Boston, Mrs. Woodland, was an alumna of East Boston High School, Class of 1949. Most of her working career was spent in merchandising & credit management for over 20 years, she was a Senior Credit Manager for the former Jordan Marsh Co. at Downtown Crossing. Later she would join the forces at Sak’s Fifth Avenue at the Prudential Center sharing the supervision of Credit Managing. Along her way, she became most familiar & quite helpful to a lovely, elegant, middle-age lady by the name of “Faye Dunaway”, a legend on Broadway & the arts. Gloria was her thoroughly over-the-top helpful self and rendered “Miss Dunaway” free of anxiety & created a friend for all seasons. Gloria was awarded a certificate of merit & a bonus & certainly this experience certainly gave Gloria many fine antidotes for the supper table. There were and are many more similar stories & adventures, all work related that enhanced Gloria’s “permanent record”.

Gloria was the wife of the late, Paul M. Woodland, who passed in March of 2007. She is the devoted mother of Michael W. Woodland, with whom Gloria made her home in Revere, Steven L. Woodland & his wife, Merri R. of Clementon, New Jersey & Paula J. Danilchuck-Grammier & her late husband, Joseph Grammier of Harrisonburg, Va. She was the cherished grandmother of James R. Danilchuck of Stanton, Va. & Christopher Danilchuck of Derry, N.H. She was the dear sister to the late, Esmeralda L. Fellowes & Lilia Leslie. She is also lovingly survived by her former son-in-law, Robert Danilchuck of Derry, N.H. and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews & her brother-in-law, John Leslie of Beachmont, Revere. Interment will be held privately, later at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
