Helen M. (Murray) Lundquist

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, August 18th, 2012 in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, from 1 – 3 p.m. for Helen M. (Murray) Lundquist, who died on Thursday, August 9th at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, following a brief illness, at 74 years..  Born & raised in Revere, she was a 1955 alumna of Revere High School.  For many years, she worked in the production department at Hysil Manufacturing of Revere.  A funeral service will follow the visiting hours in the funeral home at 3:15 p.m.  She is the devoted mother of: Mary M. Cechura of Revere, Regina M. Gonya & her husband Martin of Lynn, Deborah M. Kendall of Batesville, Mississippi, Dale T. Lundquist of Revere, & Tonia M. Young & her husband Randy of Poland, Maine.  She is the cherished grandmother of Jamie, Christina, Katielyn, Dallas, Dakota, Jennifer, Marty, Christopher, Chelsea, Melissa, Zachary, Dale Jr., Elizabeth, & Meaghan.  She is also lovingly survived by her great-grandson, Dante, & many devoted & caring nieces & nephews.  She was the daughter of the late, Mary M. (Gilmore) Murray-Duffy, who died on February 6th, 2012, & the late Charles Murray.  She is also the sister of the late, Thomas H. Duffy, Jr. & Frances Burke.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances would be most appreciated, directed to the family.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
