Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, August 16th, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (route 107) Revere for Ida (Montagna) DeAngelico, who died following a lengthy illness at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center of Revere on Monday, August 12th, at 82 years.  The Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 7:15 p.m.  Born & raised in Boston’s North End, she attended school there & lived there until moving to Revere 55 years ago.  For over 15 years, she worked as a clerk-typist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Department of Public Welfare.  Concurrently for over 25 years, she worked as a waitress for Salenora Caterers of Revere, where she met thousands of people during her career.  “Ida” was a strikingly attractive woman & had an instant recall memory for faces, which made her an often requested waitress at functions & receptions.  She leaves her  beloved husband of 55 years, Vincent P. “Da” DeAngelico.  She is the cherished mother of, Donna F. Gigliello & her husband James “Tony” of Revere, & Vincent P. Jr./”Sonny” DeAngelico & his wife Kim of Rowley, MA.  She is the devoted grandmother of, Anthony J. Gigliello & his wife Rebecca of Mendon, Michael J. Gigliello & his wife Theresa, Crystal D. Aguaouz & her husband Mustassa “Mossie,” & Jason J. Gigliello, all of Revere, Julie-Anne DeAngelico of Jacksonville, FL, Dena A. & Dylan T. DeAngelico both of Rowley.  She is also lovingly survived by her five Great-grandchildren: Justin, Adam, Michael, Toni, & Ryan.  She was the dear sister of the late John “Sonny” Montagna.  Interment is private.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
