James A. “Tony” Gigliello

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, June 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) REVERE for James A. “Tony” Gigliello, who died on Wednesday, June 2nd at Vero Healthcare in Revere following a long illness, he was 62 years old. A funeral service with follow the visitation in the funeral home at 12:15 pm. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Tony was born in Philadelphia but was raised & educated in Revere. He was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1978. He spent his life in the city he loved. He was married in July 1979 to his wife Donna DeAngelico. The couple remained in Revere where together they raised their 4 children. For most of Tony’s Life he was a painter. He worked for various contracting companies, he also owned & operated his own company for many years, until his health began to decline and he was no longer able to work. He lived his life, by his motto “His way”. He was a loving husband & father, and then later Papa.

He is the beloved husband of 42 years of Donna F. (DeAngelico) Gigliello of Revere. Loving & proud father of Anthony J. Gigliello & wife Rebecca of Mendon, Michael J. Gigliello & wife Teresa of Winthrop, Crystal D. Aguaouz & husband Mostafa “Moe” of Revere & Jason J. Gigliello & his wife Lauren of Peabody. Cherished Papa to Justin, Adam, Mikey, Toni, Ryan, Zane, Darren, Thomas & Tucker. Treasured son of the late Nicholas J. Gigliello, Jr. & Bette I. (Davis) Gigliello. Dear brother of Gina Marie DeBiase of Florida, Darlene A. Giello of Stoneham, Annmarie Villante of Revere, Christie L. Gigliello of Florida & the late Denise Gigliello. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, 733 Third Avenue Ste. 510, New York, NY 10017.

    Dear Donna and family.

    I was one of Tony’s Nurses at BIDMC for many years. I was so saddened when I read his obituary. Tony fought a long hard battle but never gave up his humor, May he rest in Peace.

    There are no true words to bring you comfort right now , I’m heartbroken for all of you, I will miss Tony breaking them on me with his Christmas countdown every year, something silly we had between us that kept me laughing……..Tony has always been in my prayers, now I will pray for him to send you signs you can’t ignore.

Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
