James W. Hickey, III

At 62 years, in Revere, March 31st, unexpectedly, following a lenthy illness. Beloved son of the late James W. Hickey, Jr. & Louise M. (Cardillo) Hickey-Dorr. Devoted brother of John H. Hickey & his wife, Marie of Little Elm, TX, formerly of Revere & Somerville & Gary R. Hickey of Wakefield. Dear uncle of Amanda, Ian & Olivia Hickey, all of Wakefield & Claire Hickey of Boston & the late Christopher Kennedy. Also lovingly survived by his grandnephew, Miles G. Kennedy & his grandniece, Valentina S. Kennedy, both of Nahant.

Services & interment were held privately due to the on-going mandate & regulations issued by the Comm. of MA & the Boston Archdiocese regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

Former member of 27th Lancers-Drum & Bugle Corps. of Revere & a most proud member of the “Friends of Bill W.” Jimmy was a former employee of Copy Cat, Garber Travel & Boston Coach.


Funeral Services and Interment were Private.

    I met Jim in AA and found a wonderful friend. Jim was very smart and
    very funny.

    He had a lot of challenges which he faced with courage, dignity and many times humor.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
