Joan S. (Ciampa) Sacco

Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, April 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith, Sacco, JoanHome for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) for Joan S. (Ciampa) Sacco who passed away peacefully on April 19th at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, April 23rd at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St. at 11:00 a.m.

Joan Sarah (Ciampa) Sacco peacefully left this earth on Tuesday, April 19th at Mass General Hospital after a brief illness. She was born to the late Alexander Ciampa and Lillian Cesario Ciampa on March 1, 1936. Joan married the love of her life, Anthony Sacco in 1956.  She spent her entire life in Revere where she and her husband lovingly raised their family of six.  Her family was her greatest love and passion and she took great pleasure in each of their lives and accomplishments. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader and cherished time with them.  Her life was steeped in tradition and a deep faith which she passed on to her family. She loved to sew, quilt, paint and pray; sharing the products of her crafts with family and friends. For the past 20 years Joan and her husband spent their winters in Florida where they had many friends and were actively involved in the local church. She created memories and traditions that will be cherished by her husband of sixty years, Anthony Sacco; her daughters Audrey Kivley and husband Dennis of Hampstead, NH; Adrienne Sacco Maguire and her husband Daniel of Revere;  Alisa Sacco Moscone and her husband Michael of Marblehead; Antonia Steriti and her husband Edward of Nahant; son Anthony Sacco of Osippee, NH and Peter Sacco of Revere.  She was Grammy to grandchildren, Dennis Kivley, Arianna Moscone, Michaela Maguire, Alexa Steriti, Alea Moscone, Whitney Kivley, Meghan Maguire, Anna Sacco and her great grandson Dennis John Kivley III.  She is survived by her sister Dianne Gentile of Saugus and predeceased by her sister Bernice Yannizze. She is an alumna of  the University of Massachusetts – Boston Campus, Class of 1992 & Member of the Revere Conservation Committee & the Quilter’s Guild of Andover.

Saturday, April 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church

Interment

Will be Private

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Joan to the Massachusetts General Hospital, Center for Gastrointestinal Cancer, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
