Family & friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 22nd at 4:00 p.m. in the Church of St. Joseph & St. Lazarus, 59 Ashley St., East Boston (Orient Heights), for John J. Arezia, who died on Saturday, December 19th at his Orient Heights residence.

 

Born & raised in Don Matias, Colombia, he ventured to the USA, in 1985 and settling in East Boston, with his loving brother Dario Areiza & his family. For over twenty years, John has been with the Marriott Corporation, serving as a Banquet Server at many of their locations. John enjoyed a fine reputation not only among his close friends & family but also his co-workers. Easy to work with and always high spirited and sincere.

He leaves his mother, Maria Odelia Balbin deAreiza of Colombia. He is also the son of the late Jesus Salvador Areiza. He is the devoted father of Paula Andrea Reiza of Colombia, Luisa Fernanda Areiza of East Boston. Dear brother of Maria Eugenia Areiza of Columbia, Adriana Lucia Areiza of Revere, Dario Arezia & his wife, Edilma Oborio of E.Boston & the late Olga Lsuz. His former wife, Lida MaMolina Yepes of Colombia also survives him. He is also lovingly survived by a friend, Brahim Razzouk of Salem, N.H. & many nieces & nephews. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Following cremation, his cremains will be brought back to Colombia for interment with his family.

Tuesday, December 22nd at 4:00 p.m. in St. Joseph – St. Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley St., East Boston

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
