John J. Giuffre

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, September 24th, 2013 in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, from 4 – 8 p.m., for John J. Giuffre, who died on Saturday, September 21st at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center of Revere, at 94 years.  His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, September 25th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), Revere, at 10:30 a.m.  Born in Boston’s North End, he moved to Revere (Beachmont) over 60 years ago.  For over 50 years, he owned & operated the Do-Drop-In Restaurant of Boston.  John was also a truck driver & member of Local #25.  He is the husband of the late Helen (Cullen), & the devoted & cherished father of John N. Giuffre, Peter Giuffre & his wife Jeanne, & Cynthia LaBointe, all of Revere.  He is the dear brother of Raymond Giuffre of Revere, & the late Leah Clifford.  He is also the loving grandfather of Nicholas R. & Peter J. Giuffre, Renee & Juliette LaBointe, all of Revere.  Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere.

Interment

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
