Born & raised in Revere, he attended Revere Public Schools & graduated from Somerville Trade School in 1969. Joe Jr. came to work within the family business, “Badolato Produce & Trucking, Inc.” as a young man & continued to operate & oversee the growth & success of the business, until it’s closing in 1990. The business had it’s inception in the early part of 1900, by Joe Jr. ‘s grandfather. In 1990, after the business closed, Joe Jr., opened the Hallmark Card & Gift Shop at the Woburn Mall for about 10 years into 2000. In 2007, he founded Wine & Grape of New England with an office in Everett. This company was a central educational & learning center for all things wine & grape. Not only could you select from a vast selection of wines; you could learn about wines from vine to table. The company also sold any & all paraphernalia related to the art of wine taste and wine etiquette. Joe especially loved & enjoyed his function within this venture, in spite of almost always being in severe pain dealing with the complications of pancreatic cancer. He also, throughout his career, dabbled in real estate development.

He is the devoted father of Joseph J. Badolato & his wife, Shaina R. Flammia & Danielle G. Badolato, all of Revere. He is the cherished grandfather to Eva R. Badolato. He is also the dear brother of Marie D. Aloisi & her husband, Joseph of Salem & Susan R. DeMarco & her husband, Ralph P. DeMarco of Derry, N.H. Former husband to Mary-Lee (Consolazio) Badolato of Revere. He is also lovingly by his companion, Mignon Tucker of Virginia & many nieces & nephews & cousins. He is the proud son to the late, Joseph Sr. & Rose M. (Pecora) Badolato.

To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
