Joseph R. “Moe” Saraceni

Family & friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 29th in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 11:00 a.m. for Joseph R. “Moe” Saraceni, who passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 2nd at Saints Memorial Hospital in Lowell at 82 years.

Born in Boston, he was the son of Dominic & Lucia (Giusto) Saraceni. He was raised in Boston’s North End and attended Boston schools. After high school, he entered the workforce and began working as a truck driver. Joseph worked for over 25 years as a truck driver for Corman Bag Co. in Chelsea and later he worked for Standard Electric, until his retirement. He was married to his wife, Jayne, for over 31 years and the couple was inseparable. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, and he was an avid football fan, always rooting for the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.

He is the beloved husband of Jayne M. (Cardinale) Saraceni of Tewksbury. Devoted father of Joseph V. Bocchetti and his wife Lisa of Haverhill, James J. Bocchetti of Revere, Michael Saraceni of Vermont, Lisa Coffin and her husband Gary of South Carolina, Louise Allen and her husband Francis of Connecticut & the late Joseph Saraceni. Cherished grandfather of Marissa & Ashley Bocchetti, Jolene Hays, Stephanie Caruso, Gavin Torri, Joshua Coffin, Jessica Higley, Stacy Becker, Shawn Coffin & MaKenzie Saraceni. Dear brother of John Saraceni and his wife Jane of Tewksbury and the late Sarah, Rocco, Phyllis, Eleanor, Mary Lou, Ralph, Louis & Christine. He is also lovingly survived by 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
