Joseph S. Fassi

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, July 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107)  Revere, MA.  For Joseph S. Fassi, who died on Tuesday, June 26th at his Center Ossipee, NH home, unexpectedly.  Mr. Fassi was 51 years old.  His funeral will be on Tuesday, July 10th from the funeral home at 1 0 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m..  Born in Boston, he was raised & educated in Revere and lived in Revere until moving to Center Ossipee, NH in 2002.  He was a 1978 alumnus of the Northeast Vocational School of Wakefield, with his major in Food Service.  From a youth he showed an avid interest in cooking and food presentation.  He began his career at the former Valle’s Steakhouse of Saugus on route 1, as an apprentice chef and later became Head Chef.  While in the employ of Valle’s, he traveled throughout, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont, training other chefs.  He spent over 10 years with Valle’s before moving onto the former Kernwood Restaurant of Lynnfield, where he was Head Chef for over 10 years.  About ten years ago, he became ill with Diabetes which forced him into the ranks of disabled.  Joe had a passion for his profession & had always worked toward returning to his craft.  He was the son of the late: Joseph N Fassi & Anna (Testa) Fassi.  He is the devoted brother to: Eugene S. Fassi & his wife AnnMarie of Orlando, FL,  Judith A. Dennison & her husband Arlen of Bradford, MA , Robert G. Fassi of Ossipee, NH, with whom he made his home, Stephen A. Fassi & his wife Stacey of Londonderry, NH & Charles J. Fassi & his wife Jodi of Goffstown, NH.  He is also lovingly survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.  In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 60 Walnut St., Wellesley, MA 02481

    my husband and i just knew joe about 3 years, but what a great cook. our condolences to all his family. we know his brother bobby very well and love him deeply as if he was our own son. time helps heal all wounds. god bless you all. patsy and dick arthur.

We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
