Juan F. Arias Melendez

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, January 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) REVERE for Juan Francisco Arias Melendez, who died unexpectedly on Monday, January 3rd at his home, he was 70 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 11th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Rose of Lima Church, 600 Broadway CHELSEA at 10:00 a.m. & immediately followed with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Juan was a native of San Vicente, El Salvador. He met & married his wife, Brigida De Carmen Ayala in El Salvador & 37 years ago, along with their family, they journeyed to the United States. The settled in Chelsea, and it was there they made their home. Juan was a very hardworking man & did what he could to provide for his family. He worked as a packer for a food manufacturing company for over 14 years. He was a proud member of a Mariachi Band, and he loved to play and see people enjoy the music he and his fellow band members played. Juan played the Guitarrón , a large 5 string bass. Although music was very important in his life, nothing was more important than his family.

He is the beloved husband of 49 years to  Brigida De Carmen Ayala in El Salvador. Devoted son of Lucia Otilia Arias Viuda de Melendez of El Salvador & the late Angel Melendez. Loving father of Juana Arias & husband De Madrid, Sonia Arias & husband Flores, Juan P. Arias & wife Kenya Burgos, all of Chelsea & Patricia Arias & her companion Ralphael Ayala of Revere. He is the “Papi” of 10 grandchildren and the dear brother of three sisters and one brother, both in the U.S. & El Salvador. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

Per order of the Archdiocese of Boston, Masks are required in Church.

Tuesday, January 11th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 600 Broadway, Chelsea

Interment

Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
