Katherine R. (McMahon) Catinazzo-Kalfin

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, January 4th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) REVERE, for Katherine R. (McMahon) Catinazzo-Kalfin, who passed at her daughter’s residence on Sunday, December 30th, following a brief illness. Her Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home, immediately following the visitation at 7:15 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
Raised & educated in Winthrop, she moved to Revere over 55 years ago. The mother of four children, she was a stay-at home Mom. After her children had grown, she returned to the work force for the F.W Woolworth Inc. (Five & Dime) Department Store on Washington St. in Boston as a Chef. She spent over 15 years there making many friends within her fellow employees and her customers. Katherine was married to the late James L. Catinazzo, Sr. & together they had four children. She lived in Revere for over 50 years. Her second marriage was to the late Arnold J. Kalfin. She is the devoted mother to Jo-Ann Mottola & her late husband, Richard Mottola of Revere & formerly of Peabody, Robert S. Catinazzo & his fiancée, Angela Vulliet of Glastonbury, Ct. & the late James L. Catinazzo, Jr. & the late Vincent J. Catinazzo. She is the cherished grandmother of Richard J. Mottola & Carla M. Mottola, both of Peabody, Nikki & Justin Catinazzo, both of Glastonbury, Ct., Nicole Catinazzo of Peabody, Joseph Catinazzo of Malden, Vincent Catinazzo of New Jersey & Staff Sgt. Michael Catinazzo, U.S. Marine Corps. of Hawaii. Adored great grandmother to Aubreyana Rose & Gabriel. She is the dear sister to Marie Coppola of Revere, Donald McMahon of Maine, Philip McMahon of Rhode Island & the late Loretta Brockelbank, Gladys Afienko & John A. McMahon, Jr. She is also lovingly survived by her late son Vincent’s companion, Lisa McAuliffe of Malden & many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.
