Kathryn M. (Fogarty) Gillen

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere for Kathryn M. (Fogarty) Gillen, who died on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012 following an illness at the Dexter House of Malden.  The funeral will be conducted from the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, MA on Tuesday, May 8th at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral mass.  Visiting Hours are Monday, May 7th, from 4 to 8 p.m.  A devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt & grandmother, she was the family’s care giver, fashion adviser and mentor.  She was born and schooled in Revere.  She was a 1944 alumna of Revere High School.  She is the beloved wife of 63 years to, Joseph F. Gillen.  She is the devoted mother of: Barbara J. Gillham & her husband Patrick T. of Sherman Oaks, CA, Steven J. Gillen of Revere, MA & Mark S. Gillen & his wife Maria of Peabody, MA.  She is the cherished grandmother of: Patrick J. & Kelsey M. Gillham of Sherman Oaks, CA and Christopher J. & Alycia K. Gillen of Peabody, MA.  Dear sister of Mary Norden of Royal Oak, MI, Joanne McAulay of Westwood, MA, Audrey Lovetere & her husband John of Revere, MA, Jane Forte & her husband Richard of Waltham, MA & the late: Ruth A. Sugar, Patricia Sisto & Lucille Fogarty.  She is also lovingly survived by many nieces & nephews, & grand-nieces & grand-nephews.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Everett, MA.  Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472

We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
