Kimberly L. “Kim” Fisher

Funeral Services were held privately for Kimberly L. Fisher, who died unexpectedly in her home in East Boston, on May 22, 2020, she was 53 years old.

Kim was born & raised in the Jeffries Point section of East Boston. She was an alumnus of Boston Preparatory School, Class of 1984. Immediately following graduation, she enrolled in beauty school and became a licensed hairdresser & makeup artist. Kim was an extremely hard working woman and her talent and drive led her to become a top tier hairdresser. She immediately had a large following due to her craft & purely her personality. She was witty, feisty, warm & kind and that allowed her to have many successes in business. People simply loved her & she loved them.  She also worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Auditor’s Division as an administrative assistant. She left her position in the Auditor’s division to broaden her horizon by purchasing “Golden Images” in East Boston, a Tanning and Nail Salon & Clothing Boutique. Her vision brought the salon to a new level & always had the latest women’s swimwear and women’s clothing line & accessories. She enjoyed what she was doing and had a natural knack for business. While operating her business, she still was working as a hairdresser next door on Bennington St. at Hair 2001.  She would later sell Golden Images and open another hair & nail salon in Winthrop, Seaside Salon. The birth of her son, Nicholas, was without a doubt the happiest day of her life. She loved being a mother & it meant so much to her.   She eventually worked several days a week as a hairdresser at various salons, but due to her declining health, she was forced to stop working completely. Kim had many talents & passions in life.  She was a phenomenal cook and everything she made was delicious. She was also a gracious host for the holidays, birthdays & cookouts. She liked to travel & visit new places. Anyone who knew Kim would always see her in a new outfit & looking stunning, she loved fashion and was a very savvy shopper. Lastly, Kim was a fond animal lover of all sorts, but especially dogs. Kim will always be remembered as a person with a gentle face, a beautiful smile & a loving heart. She is now safely home in heaven, she will be missed, her memory will be shared and she will always be loved.

She is the beloved daughter of Edith (Petrillo) Fisher & the late Robert L. Fisher. She is the loving mother of Nicholas J. Bitto of Revere. Cherished sister of Robert L. Fisher & his late wife Audrey M. of Winthrop, David A. Fisher of Revere & Danny Smith & his wife Patricia K. of Melrose. Dear aunt of Robert L. Fisher, Alexandria Fisher and Zachary S. Fisher, all of Winthrop, David A. Fisher of Revere, Justin S. Smith & Matthew J. Smith of Melrose. She is also lovingly survived by her two Maltase Companions, Sissy & MoJo & many other loving friends, family & extended family.

I met Kim some years ago as a customer at the salon. I eventually came to work for her at both salons 1st in EB and then in Winthrop a few nights. She had a a flair and love for her salons and her work. She was a wonderful person and although like most we move on and away and lose touch but I thought of her often and always with fondness. I pray she has now found her peace. Fly high with the angels Kim for heaven has gained another. My deepest condolences to her family and son. Rip Kim

I am so very sorry to hear of Kim’s passing. I hadn’t seen her in years, but we texted a few times in the last couple of years and she even sent me a Christmas card last year. One of the last times I saw Kim I still lived in East Boston and she came to my apt to give me a haircut. That’s STILL the best haircut I’ve ever had and to this day every time I go get my hair cut I am dissatisfied and always think of Kim and miss her.

My deepest condolences to my Aunt Edie, cousins Bobby, David, Danny and his wife Patti, and to her son Nicky and all of Kim’s nieces, nephews, family, & friends. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

We have shared so much together, but lost so much time apart. Having my cousin take me under her wing since I was 12, working summers and after school at Golden Images, deciding I wanted to be just like you, so when I did your coffee run, I started to get one for me exactly how you made yours. Never forget the day you yelled at me to get in the chair to wax my ugly eyebrows, being so afraid, you said beauty comes with pain sit down and stop whining, hahaha. You also, eventually taught me how to wax my own. I went to beauty school to do nails just like you. I worked with you until my late 20’s, followed you from one salon to the next until you final retired. We talked and shared so many story’s, advice on everything in life. This has hit me hard, thought over time we’d eventually reconnect, sitting here with regret not reaching out these past few years. Rest Easy – Love you Kim
