Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 5th, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Laurence R. Carroll, Sr. who died unexpectedly at 83 years. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, February 6th, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Breach St. & Winthrop Ave.) Revere. Born & raised in Revere. Larry attended Revere Schools, then went to the Everett Trade School, in Everett. He became a Machinist. In 1952, He enlisted in the in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. During his time in the Army, he rose to the Rank of Sargent. In 1955, after his honorable service he provided to his country, he returned home& he would marry his sweetheart, Marilyn E. Kehoe. The couple made their home in Revere and raised their 4 children. He began working at Custom Auto Body and due to his vast knowledge of repairing various things he became an Insurance adjuster. He later went to work for Polaroid, a career that would span over 30 years & retired as a Supervisor. Larry was a man with many interest, he loved the ocean and being on his boat. He was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden. Above all of his interests and hobbies, he loved his family. He was a dedicated father and became a very proud and loving grandfather. He made it known to many how he loved his grandchildren. He is the devoted husband of Marilyn E. (Kehoe) Carroll of Revere, whom he shared 60 years of marriage with. He is the loving father of Patricia A. Edris & her husband Christopher H. of Bedford, Laurence R. Carroll, Jr & his wife Marjorie J. of Lynnfield, Christine M. Masiello & her husband Anthony of Revere & the late Marilyn J. Carroll. He is the adored grandfather of Larry Carroll, Ryan Carroll, Joshua Carroll, Michaela Carroll & Madison Masiello. He is the beloved brother of Alice Cardone of Revere & the late Richard Carroll. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews and many brothers & sisters in law. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Late Korean Army veteran, Past member of Chelsea Yacht Club, Cary Square Club, VFW Post #940 & #6712. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101 – 9908.

    No matter how long one lives, death of a loved one always bring sorrow. The Bible give much hope and comfort. At John 5:28,28 we find the hope of the Resurrection.     My sincere condolences to the Carroll family. Larry was a friend and a mentor. He was sincere and truthful when he spoke and always tried to help. He was loved by the members of the CYC and was one of the hardest working members we had. He will be missed for many many good reasons. As commodore, the club is yours to be used as a place to honor our lost member. I apologize for my absence due to work related travel. Carmine Citro

Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
